3rd Test between India and Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka made 393 in the 1st Innings

in reply almost at stumps on Day 2

India are 1/443 after 74 overs scoring at 6.51 runs/over

Sehwag 284 off just 239 balls with 7 6's and 40 4's

Mate, you would go almost as well with the roads they try and pass off for cricket pitches over there! He is quite destructive though that Sehwag! Never forget his innings on Boxing Day a while back. The first time I've been moved to give a standing ovation from the couch!

Been 10.30 start in Adelaide for quite a few years now i think. Not sure what the reasons were to change from the traditional 11.00 start but would probably be to do with TV stations and $$$$.

u sure about that JJ ?, nonetheless the windies going at a good clip considering they lost 3

Gold :D That rate of scoring only happens when Ace is bowling in the backyard!

Yes, he has copped some stick in the backyard poor Ace! I'm reminded of the phrase, "A good bowler out of luck", but then I realize I'm thinking about someone else! :D

Wouldn't have become an issue if the administrators were as tough as they should have been on slow over-rates so over-time wouldn't cut into Eastern States new broadcasts. The players play as though the extra 1/2 is actually part of the scheduled times.
Heaven forbid they actually try to bowl more than 90 overs in a day.

3/136 after 32.3

Bravo 9*
Chanderpaul 35*

Nash retired hurt after being hit in the arm by Johnson in last over before lunch.

Also from cricket.com.au

Over 28.6: Bollinger to Bravo, no run, defended straight into Katich at short leg, the ball hits the foot and pops up in the air but everyone but Katich knew where it was. Cries of Oooh

Sounds like it would have been terribly unlucky for Bravo to get out to that

Am i correct in saying that if we get done for a slow over rate again that Ricky Ponting will be suspended due to him being fined numerous times in the last 12 months for slow over rates?

He deserves too. The way he just wanders to the other end between overs is a disgrace. His constant whinging to the batsmen and umpires is also a disgrace.

IMO he has improved dramatically as captain! His on field behaviour is great now, his attitude is improved, and IMO the captain is there to whing to the umpire when he is not happy with something on behalf of the team!

However rules are rules and i guess if fined he deserves the suspension (even tho its a massive suspension, missing a test match).

You do know they have a break between lunch a tea in every Test match, Ricky Ponting didnt just do a quick whip around:

" Hey lads, anyone thirsty? "

"Yeah, Rick, break would be nice"

" Righto, Umpy, just gonna pop off for a quick drink mate"....

What is your issue with Ponting mate?

Agree. But he spent 2 minutes after the referral (which was clearly not out) abusing Chanderpaul for not walking in the first place. In the meantime everyone was back in their position waiting so the next ball could be bowled.

What is your issue with Ponting mate?

The only issue I have with him is the slow over rates (admittedly not the only captain to be doing it). Ticket prices keep going up every year but we seem to be getting less and less cricket at the same time because of careless over rates.
