LMAO. What a joke English cricket is. Who's going to be captain now? Is there anyone in the team that hasn't been? Pietersen, Collingwood, Strauss, Flintoff and now there will be another to add to the mix. Rabble is the word that comes to mind.

He would be a good choice but whoever they select needs to be backed and given the job long term. It's ridiculous how often they change captains. When was the last time former captain was still playing in the Australian side? England have several currently.

The way he was used last time in England was disgraceful. Used him in periods, use him in breif 4-5 over maximum spells he would be far more effective. Saying that I don't think he deserves to be picked. Will hilf get the nod and potentially become another terry aldermann??

Strauss will do a very good job and should have got the job in the first place.

KP has got some serious issues. How is the press conference over there? They have come out and said they are delighted that Kevin has decided to keep playing for England.. WTF? What else would he do? Play County, i dont think so. Someone at the ECB needs to give him a swift kick up the arse.

I disagree, I think Bryce McGain is the best spinning option we have for the Ashes - provided he is fit.

good to see that McGain is playing in a Cricket Australia Cup match today

What time(Adelaide time) are the Ashes on?

I know it's late night, early morning, but more of a precise time would be great.

Ashes Squad 2009

Postby Browny25 » Wed Feb 11, 2009 2:16 pm

I want to open a discussion about who we all think will be in the Ashes Squad for 2009 Tour.

Its looking like Australia will take between 13 - 16 members, but more than likely to be only 13 or 14. However I do assume that there will be a few Aussies playing county cricket during this time that may get a gig due to injuries or omissions?

My squad would be:

Ponting (C)
Clarke (VC)
M. Hussey
Katich
Hughes
Haddin
McGain
Clark
Siddle
Lee
Hilfenhaus
Klinger
Symonds

Probably could throw 20 Names in the hat...
