You're right however I like him. Needs to prove he can play away from Australia though.

Not sure whether Jacques has a tight-enough technique to develop into a long-term opener.....

Murders county and shield attacks (on flat track at SCG) hasn't quite got at it the top level, was in the zone 4 years ago but couldn't replace Langer or Hayden. Time to send him back to the blue baggers and go for the next generation.

Who is out there? any 23 to 25 y.o. top orders bats worth a go opening, S.Marsh anyone?

watched the game this mornin on fox, windies just lost their 7th, 7/bout 260, chanderpaul batting with the very poor windies tail, after their inns finished i came to my conclusion, ponting is a very uninmaginary captain, not once did he change his game plan in an hr n half to get the last 3 wickets, always kept the fielders deep for chanderpaul, play 5 balls then single on the 6th, then repeat nxt over, BULLSHIT RICKY!!!!!!!!

Just be patient with some of these batsmen
JAQUES
KATICH
HODGE
SYMONDS
HUSSEY
these guys despite being experienced batsman have not been long term touring batsmen
they have played most of thier innings on Australian pitches
HODGE/KAT will get dropped if both HAYDO/CLARKE play, but all the above may need time to establish themselves overseas

Also one practice match b4 a test is a joke
players are too underdone
hence the reason why Australia have an amazing strike rate in Brisbane tests v other nations

As for the game
4/17
should get to 200 and lead by 300+ and win
Chanderpaul could make his usual 100 and we still have enough to win with
HODGE is the key as he can make runs vrs spinnerless teams

Hmm not sure about him, think he could face issues with quality bowling.

Brett Lee holds the key for an Aussie win, needs to get three of 4 quickies in the first session, also Aussies keep it very tight, Windies may just end up regretting taking the light last night :D
