In both cases, the BCCI threatens the ICC with withdrawl of whatever series they happen to be playing in at the time, screaming that their players victims.

Witness the 'test' match in South Africa.

In that case though the Indians were screwed over. Shewag was made a scapegoat and suspended. No coincidence that Mike Dinness was never involved in another match after that.

Its funny hearing their complaints against the umps in the last Test, while they were on the receiving end of some shockers, they weren't complaining about the umpiring when they beat us over in India a few years back because every time the ball hit us on the pads we were given out, regardless of whether it hit the bat or not!!

Weak as p!ss IMO to threaten to go home when things dont go your way. I agree the Symonds complaint is trivial, but dont forget, the Indians are the ones who arrived here saying that they were going to get in the Aussies faces and really challenge them. What did they expect Ponting and his side to do ? Roll over ? No, they played harder and nastier. So they should, thats why they are the best test cricket team in the world.
Now the series is 2-Nil, its all too hard for the Indians its seems.
Surely the best way to answer the challenge is to stay and beat Australia, regardless of bad decisions, etc.

Given on the last tour Symonds was taunted by the crowd in the same manner and told the whole world he didn't like it, I don't see how they can defend themselves.

He declared previously that it was offensive to him. Nothing to debate IMO.

Because the answer is probably zero.
Which would have to do with a lot.

Agree with purch.

Unfortunately I let my intense dislike and lack of respect for Ponting's captaincy and lack of integrity cloud my judgement of the whole team at times. I will be bitterly disappointed if India go home.

My guess is the ICC are trying to show some strength, by not bowing to demands of India. They've chosen the wrong issue unfortunately, as Bucknor did need to go. The real balls they need to show comes in other battles, not that one.

More i think about this, the more it seems to get worse. One wonders if Singh is cleared and the series continues, what will occur, not only on the field but off as well. I can imgaine the taunts the the Indians may well get from various sections of the crowd in both Perth and Adelaide. I am sure most on here have spent a hot summers day on the hill with a gutful of amber fluid and know the comments that just flow from seemingly just before the tea break. Could get very very nasty.

The tension out on the field is going to be bad enough, I am just a little concerned where and how all of this will end up

It means that Australian teams in the 60/70/and into the 80s were up
against umpires who favoured the home asian teams.[umpires in fear ?]
Australian teams talked about that unfairness publicly but didnt to my knowledge
stoop to asking for umpires to be replaced etc.
This may have been the catalyst to nuetral umpires in all countries ?

Now India is whinging about sledging, suspensions umpiring etc
They got an umpire in South Africa and now in OZ replaced.
For decades these guys had some favourable decisions in thier favour in home tests
The tide has turned and they are reacting like the childish people that they are.

Our cricketers against more hostile parochail crowds had more right to sulk + quit tours
These guys who are revered in thier homelands + treated by kings in our country and act like kids
