If you go by the theory 'what the opposition would like least' then the selection must be Tait.

Thats when they were a tad younger and in form, guys like Laxman etc been out of form now for awhile, but I still think Dravid will be a thorn, love the way this guy goes about his cricket

Yes younger but some of these batsmen are starting to look pretty good again, Dravid always causes us trouble and may again, Tendaulker has been in great form and without McGrath and Warne dont be surprised if he makes a couple of centuries. You really never know what you are going to get with Sourav, he is a beautiful player through the off side but Rod is right, he may just be past it. The question is what will you get from Sehwag, Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh and co. On these pitches i would say not a great deal.

Yuvraj Singh isn't even in the current test line up against Pakistan. If you read today's Advertiser, John Wright has said that Singh loves fast and bouncy decks. If does play in the tests out here he's going to have to replace one of the like of Laxman, Dravid, Gin on the Goolies or lo and behold Tendulkar.

He'd have to be at 8. Whilst he'd be more than capapble of being higher there is no way he would be put ahead of Gilly.

Yes was just throwing his name out there as he will be in the squad to Australia. I would have no problem with him replacing Laxman. He plays well against Australia is young and likes bouncy decks and is also a very good fielder. Give him a chance i say, they need to start looking to the future and if that means dropping one of Laxman or Ganguly then i am all for it.
