Well now Jaques has got a start it's time for him to go on with it  Seriously he has a habit of making big hundreds so hopefully he does go on and get a really big one.

He sure did throw it away. Worked so hard and made a really good hundred but what a dreadful shot :? Still plenty of work there for him to do but he got carried away and i'm sure he really regrets it right now. Hopefully he can learn from that.

All that said he played really well and should be really happy making his first Test hundred. Just as long as he isn't satisfied that's all.

WIN The Toss and Send Australia into Bat.

When in the Hell is a Touring side going to come to Australia and Be POSITVE and get on the Front Foot and win the toss and BAT 1st ?????????????

Time and Time again we see the tourists win the toss and use the excuse to field 1st (there was a green tinge and a bit of moisture in the pitch) only to see the Aussies Rack up 500+ and presto, GAME OVER.

Both captains would have bowled this morning. I dont have any problems with Jayawardenes decision.

Phil Jaques has faced 27 balls and is yet to get of the mark. Aus 0/15. Hayden with them all.

Could not agree more with Jackpot Jim
You win the toss and bat
When you have the worlds most lethal spin bowler in your line up have him
bowling on the last innings of the match not the first.
Putting in Australia is DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

Just for the record
Ive studied the test innings of all players in a period of 120 odd years of test cricket.
Most batsman batting in the first innings of tests make more runs than when they are
batting in the last innings of test matches.

As Ian Chappell once said
" IF YOU WIN THE TOSS YOU THINK ABOUT PUTTING IN THE OPPOSITION, JUST THINK
ABOUT IT AND THEN GO OUT AND BAT FIRST."

Well done PJ 100
Bad luck CR

I still cannot believe that in 2007 they still cut short the coverage of the cricket  Seriously if channel 9 want the rights then show it all otherwise let someone who is prepared to do so show it. FFS it just gives me the sh*ts

Agree 100% Rod.
Can you imagine the uproar if Shane Watson makes his first test 100
and Channel 9 were not showing it !

LMAO

Then and only then would i be grateful for them cutting the coverage short

Glad to see you use the word "if" rather than "when" by the way. At least you are realistic

That's a very very big "if" as well

Funnily enough they always cut it short unless you are playing England or the West Indies, goodness knows why, not as though what was on the news tonight was overly important :D

Rod Rooster

You should live in Perth - coverage starts at 8.30am and the coverage finished right on time ... must have been only Qld, WA and overseas viewers still watching!

No waiting for half the day to fly by before the game starts ... and the eastern states one dayers start at a leisurely 12.15pm!

Sorry - I'll stop using the salt when I rub!
