Why the F would they declare?

What’s the point of batting so long? The Poms wouldn’t get remotely close even if they had 20 wickets.

What's the point of declaring? I don't see any advantage to it.

Grind the opposition bowlers down.

Henry the 6th became King of England in 1422
602 years later Zak Crawley also became Henry the 6th

Matt Henry dismissed Zak Crawley all 6 times in the series
I cant recall a batsman being dismissed by the same bowler for a 3 test series
However Zak did hit one zac in the series

Crawley's scores
0 LBW
1 C+B
17 BOWLED
8 CAUGHT
21 C+B
5 LBW

For those who don't want to watch the BBL double header tonight South Africa v Pakistan is on Foxtel/Kayo. If SA win the first test test in Centurion they will guarantee a place in the WTC Final.

I read Pakistan haven't won a test in SA in nearly 18 years and haven't won a test outside Asia since August 2021 against the West Indies.

Pakistan team- Shan Masood (capt), Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Saud Shakeel (vice-capt), Salman Agha, Aamer Jamal, Naseem Shah, Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Abbas

Abbas is back for Pakistan while Shaheen Afridi is playing BPL instead of the test series.

Massive turn around for SAF if they make the final!!!

Hard to say they are a top 2 test side in the world but that’s what the test championship is for.

I'm not watching but I'm assuming there's only ten blokes and a cheetah in attendance as per usual in test matches in South Africa?

I look forward to the Saffas' next periodical attempt to have us over there for 26 December.
