At the start of the series you were well behind England on paper (yes we all know it isn't played on paper) but to lose a test by 14 runs is a fair effort. Yes it's disguised by to 10th wicket partnerships making in excess of 350 but you reap what you sow you stuck with washed up cricketers for years leaving quality cricketers stale in the shield now you had a mass exit with no one to stand up.

You must play youth now and hope for the best.

I don't know whats going on with the tour match side. Ashton turner is playing and he has never played a first class match in his life. And Travis Head may also play

6 squad members being rested. Travis Head was with the team for the Worcester tour game. At least this game is a little closer to where Trav is living at the moment.

I can't understand why batsman were rested. They all need time in the middle. The bowlers probably need a rest

Mentally they could be shot. By playing another game could do more harm than good.

I understand where your coming from Heater but none of the batsmen spent enough time in the middle to be mentally shot. Ian Bell and Joe Root have claims to that but any of the Aussies.

Not sure I agree with this. Warne, McGrath, Langer & Martyn all retired either during or at the end of the 06/07 Ashes series and we continued on being a pretty good side for years after. Gilchrist & Hogg went after the 07/08 series vs India, MacGill went during the West Indies tour in 08, Hayden went after the South Africa series in 08/09 and Ponting after the South Africa series in late 2012.

Just simply not enough talent coming through at the moment.

How highly can we rate Warner's 100 the other day? Looks like a very flat track.

Plus the fact Maxwell got a 100, finch got 50 and Elgar is on his way to 200.

That is the most sense Dropper has ever made. Spoken from someone inside the system, hope he has sent a copy to James Sutherland at Cricket Australia [-o<
