x2

As I stated last time I complained what is the point of having them if they are not going to be enforced. Might as well be open season.....

Dress standards for SACA members are a 19th Century anachronism ... it is 2012 by the way.

Why would someone who doesn't care do that?

Khwaja should have never of been dropped for marsh in the first place!

So in December you wanted to retain a bloke who at that stage had played twice as many tests as Marsh, but had scored less Test runs and whose average was 10 runs below Marsh's (30 v 40). Interesting selection process.

Marsh has wasted this opportunity though, can't see him playing the next test.

But in comparison Khawaja had actually performed at first class level to earn the opportunity to play Test cricket. Not sure whose ***k Marsh has been sucking but what the **** has that dud ever done to get the chance to play Test cricket for Australia? The guy is even more useless than his father who people seen to remember fondly for some reason despite the fact that as a test cricketer he was no ****ing good.

Just for mal's sake, here i am and i believe that my long held feelings on Marsh as a Test cricketer have well and truly been justified now. If he can dominate at first class level then sure give him another go but his current record suggests that he simply is not good enough to do anything but slog in some hybrid form of the game that no-one gives a sh*t about.

Marsh 69 games, 4089 runs at 33.24 with 7 hundreds

Khawaja 42 games, 2935, at 45.15 with 9 hundreds

By no means is Khawaja beating down the door in the same way guys like Lehmann, Law, Love, Siddons etc. did but FFS Marsh would be no certainty to get picked in the Redbacks side in first class cricket let alone playing for Australia. The guy is a ****ing spud.

MArsh's average isn't that bad, http://www.espncricinfo.com/australia/content/player/6683.html but yes he didn't exactly set the world on fire.

I don't neccessarily disagree with that Rod but the fact is at the moment we have no top order batsmen knocking the door down to get picked. So it is like 85-86 again they are searching for top order batsman. With Hughes failing, Watson injured, Katich getting the short straw in lieu of Hussey and Ponting) one thing Marsh did do that Khawaja hasn't done is that he took his intial opportunity and tonned up and then backed it up with a 50.

Test runs count.

I bet blokes like Cox, Hills, Law, Love, Maher etc wish they were born 10 years later

Add two innings and 3 runs on and see what you get. His current profile doesn't include his current impersonation of a Test cricketer.

Rodney is correct his first class stats meant he should not play Test Cricket
About this time 12 moths ago, he played well in the ODIs against England
He was selected to play in Sri Lanka
And performed exceedingly well with a ton on debut

I had thought he would not make it at Test Level , but he did in SL
I wuz wrongggggg

He made a handy about 44 in the first Test in SA on a minefield and got injured
That innings was a ripper, and I thought that he might be a good test cricketer at this stage
I wuz wrongggggg
And then  he got injured
And has been going poorly ever since

But he has deserved a spot v India
I thought he would make runs against India in this series
Once again I was wronggggg

I posted he would top score for AU in the first dig on this thread
I wuz wronggggggg

I think now he should be dropped becoz of one reason
He has made me look a idiot, and I dont like that

Hypocritical as well - states 'neat casual', yet males have to wear a collar (which includes 'grandpa collar' - sums up the SACA perfectly  ).

T-shirts are unacceptable for males yet Crocs are acceptable

20 years ago you'd barely get a glance over The Advertiser broadsheet if a batsman got out in his 20s in the members.

Haha SPOT ON mate, couldn't agree more!!!!!!

I was in the members, a standing ovation for Sachin out for 25? This might be the last time we see Ponting too but he didn't get a standing ovation as he walked out like Tendulkar did.

We're quite entitled to comment on SACA Membership as South Australian taxpayers, who have paid off YOUR massive debt.

So in consideration of that minor and insignificant point, the great unwashed have some interest in how the sacred and elitist royalty dress in public.

... but only if that's OK with you smac :ymhug:

Peace be with you. :ympeace:
