Now taking drinks  This is a farce. Just play till he's out or gets his hundred and be done with it.

Sorry, but the game must stop for a very important commercial break. That's "professional" sport.

42 when we lose, man that's shit. LOL. Sack the bum.

Oh my even when he performs you find a way to give him a sly backhand slap.

The criticism you give him is ridiculous and totally uncalled for. Once again he scores a hundred and this one a match saving one which i believe you thought was just about impossible for him.

This game may well have been a loss if Pup hadn't made the runs he did, if anyone held belief he was a frontrunner I would have thought this dig went a fair way toward dissuading that opinion.

A player averages less when the team loses   Wow, that's terrible. I would have thought most players would make more runs and take more wickets when their team loses than when they win

SMAC

OK prediction time
I will go out out on a limb
This match will be a draw

I actually changed my mind about THIELES declaration, reckon EG should declare close to stumps if still batting

This game is getting to be like the first test when AU declared late on day4
after our keeper smasssssssssssssshed a ton

Come on RoosterRod I predicted the result as well ....

Yes, but joker predicted an unbeaten Clarke hundred and man of the match award plus us having the momentum going into the next Test. You will need to me more specific with you predictions in the future as joker has raised the bar ;)

I think with Ricky Ponting coming to the end of his Career and Michael Clarke coming into his prime, that Clarke is now Australias best Batsman. and if you look at his last 17 tests since Gilly Retired and he become Vice Captain
he is Averaging 56 with 6 hundreds (he got his other 6 tons in 33 tests)
i think he has excelled since being given the VC and hopefully he can take another step up when Punter retires.

On Ponting, am I being a little paranoid, or am I starting to see a bit of a slide in Ricky's form? I hope not.

Going forward is it time that Michael Clarke steps up to the number 4 spot and put Hussey to number 5? Clarke has been superb this series and deserves the extra responsibility IMO.

Thoughts?

I hope you are being a little paranoid, Punter does have a tendancy to be vulnerable early, it's just that 90% of the time he overcomes it. I guess he's not used to coming in with us 1 for under a hunderd.

That's what I was thinking. Does anyone average more when their sides loses? Even Bradman would be struggling.

Also worth noting that Mark Waugh didn't average 42 for his whole career. I think Clarke's going alright.

Ponting averages 36 when we lose, Hussey 25 and Katich just below 37. Are they front runners as well? Your argument is beyond flawed.

If you provide some evidence for those claims sure I'll admit my argument is flawed. Until then I'll stand by what I've always thought that he more often than not gets runs when everyone else is or when the pressure really isn't on. I've never rated him as some sort of gun batsman but despite the slip ups he did do well last night and is batting very well in the series.
