i would have attempted to swipe it to mid wicket, just like i do every other delivery bowled.

I witnessed that on Saturday ;)

unfortunately it was too little too late - third game this season we have lost by less than 12 runs :(

but yeah sucked in poms!

Amazing what happens when a coach is appointed who is a man's man. Who understands our culture, who can sort out the shit in our dressing room. A coach who's been there and freely encourages a frothy after a win. A coach who pisses off the silly rotation system.

We have an opener in Warner who can put a bowling attack on the back foot within minutes. We have a skipper who's tactics are brilliant and is a world class batsmen. Haddin is in career best form after overcoming personal adversity. We have a group of bowlers who complement each other. Harris is all class, Siddle is all guts, Lyon gets better and better and then there's Mitch. We haven't had a quick put fear in batsmen since Thommo. His head is clearly in a better space.

When we took the final wicket I was stopped at traffic lights. The bloke in the car next to me yelled "you beauty", the two young tradies opposite me were high fiving - it's a great day to be an Aussie. One could be excused if one indulged in an extra tinnie or three tonight.

The arrogance is back, so is the swagger and the chirp. But most importantly, for the Australian cricket team and the Australian cricket public - the good times are back.

great post - in the end everyone chipped in, some more than others, but it was great to see rogers get a few runs and bailey flay them everywhere for that over too.

Cook or Anderson for mine ... Australia wouldn't have won the Test (or series for that matter) so easily if both weren't so shit.

I think they got it right. The situation in which Smith made his ton was much tougher than it was when Warner made his.

First innings knocks are always more valuable than second innings ones unless the team is trying to save a game.

Thought Warner's 60 in the first innings was a good knock, he held the top order together

This link is a good little insight as to how close this team has become over this series. Many questions were asked of personal relationships etc but from watching certain players celebrate hundreds, the win, wickets etc I think we can say the 'bad blood' as portrayed by the media is over and the side is back to is collective arrogant winning best!

Moments like these are why you play the game, a physically and mentally draining game!

that is bloody awesome!! I may be going over the top, but i really rate this ashes win in one of the best sporting achievment by an aussie team. written off in the press, underdogs and to not just win, but to smash them is some something which is fantastic. Very proud of the lads...

Boof for australian of the year :D

Always thought we'd be a shot in Australia. Never thought we'd do this but.... I can see Australian coaches who will make a deal out of this for years that sport is most between the ears and this is proof.

Reb mentioned and I agreed in England these blokes showed large cracks and boof has gone after the ego's in their side and destroyed their spirit AND done it so easily....

Our dominators had egos galore but you had to get blood out of a stone.

These pricks are gutless front runners.

Bring on the Saffers my mouth is watering.....

I don't think we've seen a demolition of a Test side like this since the Windies were so invincible with their 4 prong pace attack in the 80's ... The Aussies have only done it for 3 Tests whilst the Windies did it for a decade though!

We did a fair number on those Saffer sides in the 2000's who had talent to burn, threatened us through the media and delivered **** all.
