Pretty scathing accusation against CA in the Sunday Mail this morning. Saying that they stepped in and intervened in the pitch preparation for the Shield game vs NSW. Over-ruled Damian Hough. Ordered less grass than usual hoping to give Smith and the Aussies a decent hit. Instead the abrasive surface meant the ball reversed wildly and everyone got skittled and it was over in two days.

Farcical if true

Believing they know more than the guy who lives and breathes the wicket and knows it better than anyone.

No wagging tail from the Backers, All out 322, Cooper Not out 70, looks like they lost 3 wickets in 5 balls

It has happened overseas before, hard to believe that we would be a cleanskin.

It's not so much that they stepped in. That happens everywhere as you said. It's the extraordinary lack of knowledge demonstrated. Their ineptitude delivered thr exact opposite result they wanted.

That's a premium grade of incompetence.

Or it was designed to see what would happen if we did prepare the pitch to enhance reverse swing given that arguably our attack is better at it (Starc in particular) compared to England's

Meanwhile Maxwell is playing the cover drive (lofted and on the carpet) for fun off Zampa's bowling.

And Hazelwood is making short work of the WA top order.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I think Chadd should get a game too, think Cummins should be rested through the Series so not to over work him, so maybe Cummins plays the 1st Test, and then Sayers plays the Adelaide test.

On today though, he really only got the tail out. When he was bowling to Harris and Maxwell they were playing him with ease. Will be even harder bowling to Root, Cook and co.
