I like Jonny Bairstow as a cricketer. His old man was a very good ‘keeper.

However he made 78 but dropped Green on nought (38 runs) and Carey on 26 (he’s now 52)

Bairstow is +14 ATM without even considering the extra overs England have had to bowl.

England would be batting again right now if Foakes was in the side.

It was alway great to see Alex Stewart with the (+) next to his name and not Russell. We made the same mistake in the 80s picking Phillips. Long may this modern English tradition of not picking your best ‘keeper continue!!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

What if Foakes made a duck? Whole game changes.

Too simplistic analysis

Correct. Puts em at 6 for 176 with real pressure on the tail and Root, likely outcome of around 250.

Nah I’ve still got Bairstow playing you’re getting rid of one of the openers

To me Bairstow is in their top four batters.

Foakes arguably isn’t walking in at 5/176 if Bairstow is batting five or two

The Trav another important half ton
Alexander the Great half ton not out
Khawaja did a David Warner celebration when he made his ton- and he unselfishly held up an end to support the 2 South Aussies ...

This test is evenly poised
Should Australia get to a total of about 444 their prospects look good
