Was always going to be the result with the selected side, but in fairness to the eleven selected they showed some grit and had a crack.

Hopefully much like England it will take a test to get the balance right and get use to the conditions, I will be hoping we can seriously push India in the next test

What would you change? Our 2nd spinner isn't as good as panesar and our first spinner isn't as good as swann

Given that Lyon spent most of day 3 bowling 100kph I'd suggest Clarke doesn't have much faith in our spinners to bowl spin

Lol u seriously don't think we need a second spinner at least Lyon had a couple of chance including sachin plumb not given. Starc and Siddle didn't look like getting a wicket even if they had five days to get one

Starc is no good when the ball isn't swinging. He can't bowl line and length and he doesn't hit the seam. Shouldn't play again in this series in my opinion.

Starc is seriously over rated as a new ball bowler IMO. Shouldn't be in the test side at present.

Always felt 450 was needed if you win the toss and bat first.
Pitch conditions were at their best but too many guys got starts and didnt go on with it, just another 15-20 each from Warner, Cowan, Watson and Hughes would of made a big differance. All got starts but couldnt convert

Without Hussey and Ponting I do think we lack those overall class batters that have the skill and patience to go on and make those really big hundreds, Clarke the obvious exception, SAF have Smith, Kallis, Amla while ENG have Cook, Trott, Pieterson.

Warner is one who at the moment doesnt convert enough and when he does he will be elite. Seems to get out between 40-60 alot, very rarely gets out very cheaply.
Think the best is still to come

Agree at this stage Warner can smash a hundred but not really a 150+ batsmen, Cowan is a battler who lacks the class to hit the massive ones, Watson struggles just to get to a hundred.

Disagree, Johnson has an intimidation factor that Starc does not.
