Lack of a 4th bowler is starting to hurt the Saffers. Kleinveldt is rubbish and Kallis' best bowling is well behind him.
Smith bowling himself
Im with Skull, declare 100-150 behind and see if Smith has the balls to make a game of it, will peter out to a tame draw tomorrow otherwise

I guess that's lunch.
Aus 3/214 off 60 ov
Clarke 78 no
Cowan 98 no
Only batsmen to reach double figures so far.

Agree no guts no glory would expect a batters paradise at Adelaide so this could be a chance to sneak something

i think if both teams were offered the chance to call the game off now they would take it, neither team played with much urgency that session

Yeah very strange, even if today was lunch day 3 we would still be struggling to get a result.

The Saffies really rely on bowling teams out super cheaply as they don't bat overly agressive so if the opposition can put 300 up there is another day and a fair bit gone for the Saffies to draw level

And thats unfortunately why fans are switching to teeball.
If its heading for a lame draw id expect the GABBA to be empty tomorrow.
We could declare at tea about 100-150 behind and the Saffers could bat a session and a bit and set us 300-350 off say 50 overs and make a game of it. Who knows they could get a couple of early wickets and roll us. Either way its better than a tame draw

if australia were serious about trying to get a result they should declare as soon as they pass teh follow on, give south africa enough time to plan their tactics, but i doubt any team would risk going 1 nil down in a 3 test series

Clarke showing some aggression here so maybe a declaration is in order.

Clarke tends to be pretty creative with his captaincy so lets hope for some sort of game on
