Is Brad Haddin the biggest knob in domestic cricket??

Thought he had a stumping, didnt even bother appealing then 3rd umpire gave it not out.
Generally appeals for everything even if obviously not out and then looks stupid when he doesn't pick Narine and it goes for 4 byes

What a terrible batting exhibition by both teams
3/114
PS win with 4 balls to go

I dont know what was worse tonight
The pitch conditions for a 20/20 game
SS top order batting
Haddins bumbling wicket keeping [the stumping was out in my opinion]
The umpiring LBW decisions
The SS fielding
How PS let this get to a run a ball with 2 overs left was poor batting

On the positive side
Mendis 1/19[4] including an LBW that looked very out, a stumping that looked out, and 2 dropped catches off 2 balls in a row , bowled well
Narine was almost unplayable 0/16[4]
I could watch these 2 spinners bowl forever

These 2 teams played off in the BBL grand Final last year
But I doubt if either side will make the finals with their batting [thats a big call as ST had won 12 in a row b4 this match]
ST need to rely too much on their very good bowling attack

Mal, no way was that stumping out, to give it out you would have to guess

Foot was on the line [in my opinion ]
2 commentators both sort of agreed that it looked out, but the batsman, I mean North, may be given the benefit of the doubt
But then again its hard to be sure sitting on the couch

If the decision was made with 1 run left and 1 wicket needed , it would be controversial

Mendis and Narine were absolutely amazing I thought.

Had Sydney taken their chances the game may have been a lot more interesting, however i dont think the fact it got down to a couple overs is due to poor batting. Perth had a low total to chase, and with no bonus points or incentives to come out blazing, it seemed to me they were quite content to just knock it around and get these runs without too much danger.

The crowd was absolutely awful though, how many were there?

Yep the T20 needs a bonus point system!

Also could this comp be in trouble if the world champs cant get a decent crowd, or is it more about tv ratings.

I also think the scheduling plays a part in the crowd, Sunday night when people have work next day isn't ideal. What about the chances of an actual day T20 game? Or a double header? Might interest people bit more..

Yes think bonus point may need to be looked at, there is no incentive for sides batting 2nd to go hell for leather

Poor Crowds for the whole tournament if you ask me. Just over 10 000 in Melbourne on the weekend with Shane Warne playing.

Cricket Australia massively exposed here, England have had a reduction in crowds, The hype of IPL has died down.

Perhaps they were part of the 'massive' turn out of about 17000 people who have attended the first 3 days of the Hobart Test match ?

Double headers would work well if you had them in Melbourne and Sydney with say for example the stars vs strikers and then renegades vs scorchers all on the same night afternoon/night

What is the capacity in Hobart? 17,000 for a test match against Sri Lanka isn't so bad I dont think, they are hardly a draw card.

I'm thinking AUS v WI in the 1 day series will be a crowd puller..

That’s over 3 days PG less than 6,000 a day including the weekend. Very poor crowd.

I would be surprised ODI crowds are diminishing as well.

Bring back state v state. The 'franchises' are carp. Cue REB to comment on how the whole 20/20 is carp... :)

Yeah I agree.. I was listening to a podcast this morning and a couple of guys were discussing bringing in NZ 20/20 teams too which would be interesting.

Personally Geelong in for one of the Melbourne teams and Newcastle
For a Sydney team. Perth and Adelaide and Hobart get good crowds
