A more positive start could've seen a different outcome, we didn't know whether we were coming or going and dropping anchor has never been a strong point.
I'd sooner us fall 20 short trying to win than what happened, surely our bar is low atm so jagging a couple of scalps this season would do wonders for our confidence.

Couldn’t agree more.
It’s almost like a draw is now good enough for them.
Have a crack and if you lose by going down swinging who cares.
Head is a good player but lacks serious leadership skills.

You haven't seen the lads on Sunday at the Cumby...…...they most definitely will tell you how good they are!! A couple of them aren't with the squad these days.

I think its the general attitude of most teams these days.
In those situations they're happy to hedge their bets each way, bat normal until there is 30-40 overs remaining and if the run rate happens to be within 5-7 an over and they have 8-10 wickets in hand then have a dash knowing they can pull the pin at any point and almost be guaranteed to survive still.
The Head wicket was the one that cost us. Had he have got gotten alongside Carey they would have had a red hot crack. Once Head got out the thought of a chase was off.
Even Indias great run chase against us last year didn't start to 'fairly' late and was on the back of Pant getting away with a few.
Most teams ensure they wont lose first before then deciding if the chase is on. Almost identical to how the team batting in the third innings uses the decleration.

Ultimately we didn't have an answer to the class of Khawaja, though he got lucky with a decision or two maybe

We had no Pant or anything alike in the lower order, India also knew they had players lower that could nut it out if Pant got out.
We should've attacked first then retreated if it looked like a non event.
We never ebb and flow well, we end up just ebbing every time.

Some competent umpires wouldn’t go astray. Khawaja should have walked it was that blatantly off the gloves. QLD would have been 3 for stuff all at that stage.Lightning McQueen wrote:Tony Clifton wrote:Pretty good Shield game overall

We should've won after we dismissed them so cheaply, the one that got away.
