I saw the best and worst of BBL cricket tonight
Both involving Ben Laughlin

The Ben Laughlin/Jake Weatherald catch was sensational
Thats as good as it gets

Brad Hodge getting clean bowled off a free hit , the ball deflects to the boundary
Brad Hodge gets accredited with 4 runs
Thats as bad as it gets

Extraordinary Cricket. The reaction of the Melbourne home crowd just hammers home what a special sporting moment that was.

Watched 15 or 20 minutes last night.

The fat bloke, Pollard I think, what was with his celebration where he counted his fingers? Is that how many overs he's out there before he's ******?

More so, why do bowlers even celebrate getting a bloke out who has spent his innings trying to hit everything over cow corner?

I thought the Umpire called it byes? A little unfair to Alex Carey......
Why not call it 4 no balls but ball doesn't need rebowling?

yep. As I said the other week, Siddle has shown that you can bowl high 120s or low 130s and not have much of a change of pace and still be effective if you are accurate. Siddle has surprised me actually, i thought he would be fodder.

Sayers would be the same i reckon. Surely he should play white ball cricket for SA at least

He did play in the ODD competition this season, unfortunately he struggles to have the same level of impact in the shorter format.

Strikers are up shit creek..

CA have scheduled the Strikers semi final for Friday, 2 February - day before the first T20I.. Darren Lehmann said in last nights coverage, those in the squad wouldn't be playing BBL.

Strikers lose Head, Carey and Stanlake.

Also heard that Rashid Khan wont be playing, he's off back to Afghanistan.
