Australia's full Test Squad:

Steve Smith (c), David Warner (vc), Ashton Agar, Jackson Bird, Peter Handscomb, Josh Hazlewood, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Steve O'Keefe, Matt Renshaw, Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Swepson, Matthew Wade.

Super excited to see wade miss chance after chance behind the stumps.

Maxwell is the right choice and should play at 6. How on earth mitch marsh gets picked is beyond me he has not done anything at first class level to deserve it. Personally i think the aussies should play all 3 seamers with lyon, maxwell and smith as the spinners. The more spinners you play you just play into indias hand. If hazlewood, starc and bird get the ball reversing its your best way to beat the arrogant bastards.

Maxwells selection is a ******* disgrace, the prick can't even get a SS game!
Head very unlucky, far better batter and bowler than Maxwell but obviously concerns over his batting against spin

Head would get eaten alive in india. Just look at the one dayer on friday. Maxwell for all his faults is pretty good at playing spin and i cant see who else deserves to be ahead of him in the subcontinent.

So we are picking guys on form in ODI's and Mickey Mouse teeball stuff now.
That just screams out what is wrong with Australian current at the moment, should be playing SS this time of year.
Shaun Marsh is good against spin but he is getting picked off the back of 2 grade cricket games and a handful of hit and giggle games

Renshaw

Khawaja
Smith
Handscomb
Maxwell/Agar
Nevill- I think Wade would go well with the bat in India because he's the best sweeper in the Australian squad but he'd miss too many chances with the gloves especially when keeping to the spinners. Nevill is a much better keeper.
Starc
O'Keefe
Hazlewood
Lyon

Shaun Marsh
Head
Agar
Cartwright- Instead of Mitch Marsh unless Marsh starts scoring bulk runs and taking bulk wickets in the second half of the shield season.
Bird- Would love to go with Pattinson but he wouldn't be ready.

I got Nevill, Head and Cartwright wrong for Wade, Swepson and Mitch Marsh.

This is annoys me because they're prepared to take Swepson over there to give him an opportunity, fair enough but they give Cartwright a opportunity in Sydney and immediately drop him. Marsh hasn't done anything to deserve a recall into the test team so why not just retain Cartwright?

I don't like how guys are getting dropped after just one game. Ideally Marsh/Cartwright won't get a game anyway. Oh well, I think they have the best players in the squad at this current time to go to India and I'm really looking forward to seeing how we go.

Who is the designated backstop to stand behind Wade?

Agreed Grenville, what is it with there love affair with Wade? Why not pick the best wicket keeper in Australia, whoever that is , but its definitely not Wade! I personally wouldn't have taken Okeefe, he's not a spinner, he's a roller, no tweak at all. Tuff on Cartwright, but M.Marsh is a much better med/quick bowler but probably suspect batter against Indias spinners. I could go on !!!!!!!!!

So will Cartwheel join the one test club with Mennie & Ferg?

Pleased to see a wrist spinner included. I see Head having more of a test future than Maxwell, so I would have gone the other way on that call.

The Marsh for Cartwright selection makes no sense at all unless its based on Cartwright not looking like he plays spin overly well. Even if he doesnt Marsh doesn't do anything better than anyone else.

Head would have taken that 'all rounder' spot for mine.

Maxwell may turn out to be a good selection but not sure how the selectors can pick Maxwell over Head based on first class form this season but that doesn't seem to count for much these days.

I reckon O'Keefe take most wickets out of our spinners over there. They'll go after Lyon, he'll drop his head, Smith will shit himself and Lyon will end up bowling darts that they'll milk. I have grave fears for Josh Hazelwood, I reckon Smith will have to keep going back to him to keep things tight and might burn him out. It's bloody unforgiving over there for an overworked quickie. If he doesn't break down he may up his status even more, he's a class act with a huge heart and they won't take him on as much as others.

the big bash isnt moving, they are selling out stadia and that is the best thing to happen to australian cricket for years

the question is how best to work around it.

should they scrap the 50 over cricket entirely? To me that wouldnt seem like much of a loss, and they could then play more shield cricket at the start of the season, or even have a longer season in general

Don't have to move the BBL.
Play the SS and BBL at the same time, players have the option of which comp they want to play for.
The BBL should be fully of kids, overseas players and has beens.
For the sake of our test side we simply have to play SS games at this time of year

Correct weight, it's an absolute farce not having Shield cricket whilst our Tests are on. Shows that people like Sutherland and Co. don't really give a shit about Test cricket.

I am sure it's been mentioned, but are the selectors taking the piss picking Mitchell marsh?

apparently he is now a bowling allrounder?!?

Hilton Cartwright very stiff. Thought his selection was a bit weird to begin with, but to go from Test #6 to not even in the squad through no fault of his own is very harsh

Nowhere near as bad as Langer missing the 93 ASHES tour after playing the previous five tests inclusive of two 50s (pair in the last test didn't help though!)
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Sayers will be cut from the squad, reckon they'll pick 4x spinners - they'll pick a Swepson or/and Agar just because bloody Shane Warne has opened his pie hole.

Maxwell and both Marsh boys will also be in the mix i suspect.. maybe a left field selection of Cummins as the back up quick.

F**k i'm good.. read these CA muppets like a book

You know it's a 4 test series?
