Birds delivery to cook was an absolute corker. Good to see Lyon claiming some wickets on the first day. Apparently no one has scored over 300 at Durham all year so will be interesting to see how Australia go on when theu get to bat.

Whacked a 50 on the draw at $3.35.
Potential return of $167.50.

Their has never been a draw in a test match their. And their has only been one draw in the county comp this year.

No. Leave the spinner as is. Why must we change the bloody team for every game

He is a bowler so he needs to pick up wickets unlike in the last test.

Happy to say I got this wrong :)

Hopefully the next series they have faith in Gaz and put him in the 11 from the start.

Exactly, couldn't believe he got left out of the side for the first two tests for Agar and more proof the selectors didn't learn from last time when dropping Hauritz for a Test effectively cost us the Ashes there.

I would be really interested in see Lyons first innings bowling figures compared to his second innings.

Strangely for a spinner I think his first innings stats would be alot better than his second innings stats

Just had a look at Nathan Lyons innings figures

1st Innings- 24 times he has 52 wickets @ 32
2nd Innings- 23 times he has 29 wickets @ 34

As a test match spinner he really needs to improve his second innings performances

He is fairly comfortably the best spinner in the country though

I'm not so much concerned about the 2nd Inns figures but those 1st Inns figures are fantastic. No pitches are turning on Day 1/2 and most batsmen are digging in in the first innings to try and set up their teams totals as opposed to the 2nd innings when they're more likely to be going sfter it.

Agree his first innings figures are brilliant

But u can't be serious about not caring about his second innings figures, that is the innings where a spinner is normally a teams main weapon, he needs to be taking second inning wickets that is when the game is won and loss

2nd innings figures not helped by the fact that he wouldn't of had massive totals to defend. Same case with all the Australian bowlers, bit of confidence and some runs to defend can make a lot of difference
