Is currently injured (minor calf) but will be playing for the Dolphins in the South African T20 comp this month

Chris Gayle will play no part for Dolphins in the MiWAY T20 Challenge in South Africa, as his groin injury persists. Gayle left South Africa on Sunday for Trinidad where he will attend the funeral of his former West Indies team-mate Runako Morton, who died in a car accident last week. Gayle may have been able to get fit in time for Dolphin's final group-stage match, on March 21, but the franchise and him have agreed he will not return to South Africa.

I must admit, I like that squad. No matter who we lose through an injury we have cover in the batting lineup, also means anyone can be replaced due to form. Not wild about our spinning stocks, but nobody is really clearly better than Lyon or Beer IMHO and having backup for bowlers is always wise.

There has been nothing released media wise why he left. Know his wife is about 6 weeks away from giving birth.

Although alot of us give him curry on here, lets hope him leaving the tour has nothing to do with something bad for his wife or unborn child.

For sure. I hope he's about to announce his retirement, but everything be okay with the wife and kidlet.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but Peter Neville sent over as replacement.
