Just for something different Warnie has an opinion..

"Katich losing his contract was a bit disappointing because I think he's been a true performer for a while. But I understand the logic of leaving him out," Warne told the radio station Triple M.

"The one thing about Cricket Australia I would say, and the current [group]; if you're going to say you're in transition, I think for the fans and the public and everyone out there who wants to support the Australian cricket team, let's see some youngsters in there.

"Don't hang on to the older guys in there, say 'we're in transition, give us a bit of time', but have 35 or 37-year-olds still playing Test cricket or one-day cricket. Get them in there, to get some experience and say 'we're in transition'.

"Let's stop sliding down to No. 5 in the world; [if] we keep playing the same players but saying 'we're in transition', it doesn't work."

read that to and though to bloody right. How would Katich feel knowing he has out performed Ponting and Hussey by a considerable amount and to be told he has been left out because of the transition to the future, yet we have Ponting Hussey and D Hussey getting full contracts. What a joke.

The selectors agree. That must tell you something ha ha. With or without Kat we are screwed until we can find a better spinner than Horrie so welcome back Kat and watch those Blueboys go. We are in rebuilding so why not piss off a few other old bastards as well.

EDIT

This from Warne

He's doing what he wants, CA have no chance of tying him down to anything, sadly.

Epic spray by Katto.

The changes I would've made (with an eye to the next Ashes)

In: Hazelwood, Starc, Katich, Maddinson (3 exceptional youngsters + a performing batsman)
Out: Krejza, Hastings, Doherty, Dussey (ALL DEAD WOOD!)

Great press conference by Simon, said a few home truths,if selectors are going down rebuilding with players once they reach a certain age,he shouldnt have been the only one.

Listened to the presser this morning...

Not quite a BRAG Hodge effort, but if he thinks what he said will see him under scrutiny from CA, then that goes to show how bad the censorship on the players is!

Stan's 11, of cousre this is based on the actual CA contract list. I do feel fairly limited.

1. Watson
2. Hughes
3. Khwaja
4. Ponting
5. Clarke
6. Ferguson
7. Haddin
8. Johnson
9. Hauritz
10. Harris
11. Bollinger

Now I have decided that Hussey is out and young ferguson is in. But Still they really need another opener. Hughes I only selected because well I really didnt have to many options.
Hauritz is our best spinner, give him a run. In this side we still have 4 seamers.

There are some staggering discrepancies amongst that list or the contracts been drawn up with the selectors view of whether a player will be Test, ODI or both.
Brett Lee has been good since he came into the one-day side, but the fast bowling stocks are probably the area we are least deficient in at the moment, especially with some of the youngsters coming through.
Can't believe keeping D Hussey instead of Katich.

i have been taught to pick players who are in good form, regardless of age or whatever.

Yep we dont have a quality spinner but if our top 7 bats make a decent score then the spinners have some sort of incentive to toss the ball up and bowl aggressively instead of flat medium pacers.
