Over 45.6: Quiney to Ludeman, no run, OUT, aims a cut and edges to Wade - his 4th catch of the innings, SA now 7/139

Lucky Ludeman didnt go on with it. The Manou haters would have sent the site into meltdown....

My mancrush with Dan Cristian is seriously growing at a rapid rate  no question he is the heart and soul of the Redbacks team even if he is a new south welshman. :)

Get him in the Aussie team.

Gritty cricketer in red hot form that Australia could do with right now.

Hurt himself after the blizzard wicket... sucked in Ranga!

We need all the help we can get

FFS McDonald is dead set average. We have about eight of them in the side already. Bowls worse than Siddle and bats worse than North.

I knew it would only be a matter of time until Pidge came to Ronny's defence!

For the record, I agree with you Pidge. Before his injury McDonald was the inform batsman in SS with 3 tons in 5 digs. Bat Haddin at 6 and play McDonald & O'Keefe/Smith/Hauritz @ 7 and 8 and there is still room for 3 seamers and a very deep batting lineup. Plenty of bowling options too if someone is bowling poorly. McDonald won't take a bag, but will bowl stump-to-stump, contain and build pressure in those periods where the pitch is flat and the ball is no longer new.

54th Over
Over 53.5: Hastings to George, no run, OUT, drives in the air to mid on - SA 168 and that will be Tea - a very poor batting effort by the Redbacks
Over 53.4: Hastings to George, no run, swings hard and misses at one outside off
Over 53.3: Hastings to George, no run, ducks a bumper
Over 53.2: Hastings to George, no run, drives neatly to mid off
Over 53.1: Hastings to Edmondson, no run, OUT, pushes and edges to 2nd slip - another good catch by Hussey - 9/168

Exactly.
McDonald will offer you more than Smith will. Although i'm a fan of Smith.
McDonald is a bowling all-rounder, who is having a good season with the bat.
You summed up his bowling well.
When Warne and McGrath were in tandem, there were plenty of periods where they would dry up the runs and create pressure.. Obviously McDonald isn't near as good as these two, but he does the same thing and IMO Australia needs him at the moment.

Over 17.6: Christian to Hill, no run, OUT, drives at a wide half volley and Moffat takes a blinder at shortish cover point, diving to his right. He may play at long time for SA and never take a better catch - much needed wicket - Vic 1/77
