Just on "clubs not being willing to amalgamate", I can tell you that when it was put to SACA clubs about 15 years ago to explore this, my club Sturt were seriously talking with Glenelg. It was the weaker clubs, the clubs just sponging off the competition who did nothing about it, and that is why nothing happened.
