was away camping yesterday and just caught wind of manou's ton. still deserves his spot in the team and this performance only reaffirms that fact.

There is clearly daylight between Manou and Ludeman in regards to glovework and batting.

interesting comment, would almost be impossible for ludeman to do worse than manou in his last innings so daylight might be out the question.

DAYLIGHT IT IS - 116 - thank you very much.

Can't let that one go outside off CA, go back a few years, early 2000's, when the cricket world was saying he was the best keeper in Australia outside Gilly (who no one would replace anyway) and he suffered from his lack of runs and the SACA selectors replaced him for some time with Deitz. Brod would be able to give us Deitz's first class batting stats, but was in a different league with the gloves and I think he might have cost us a game or two with vital mistakes, especially on last day or two when keeping on first class grounds becomes difficult. I agree with the 20/20 opening, his really only big shot is over mid wicket, bit hard when they are bowling at 140 and moving the ball.

it is 2010 nearly 2011 and the bull is talking nearly 10 years ago. the past is long gone and time to step aside as only half the player from even 2 years ago. talking about the early 2000's now. stuck in a time warp and let go. give up the appreciation society as no good for sa cricket

Read the post correctly (if you can), the response answered the question, as did MANOU today, thank you very very much.

dont tell the bull that or the chairman of the manou fan club will at us all. he is the only one who knows anything by the looks. looks like a fair few people also agree no more manou for the state side. join me up as well in the no manou fan club

What is the common theme amongst the No Manou fan club, they all list Port Adelaide in some respect for clubs they barrack for or they barrack for a non existant AFL team.
116 it is.
SACA record for most dismissals.
His record speaks for itself.

When, IMO, he is no longer the best keeper / batsmen in this State I will acknowledge that fact, but it is not now and won't be for a couple of years. The fan club lives on - go you good thing.

We find on other threats the constant complaints about SACA bringing in interstate players. Here we have (IMO - that is shared by some good judges in SACA cricket) the best wicketkeeper / batsman this state has produced since Barry Jarman and he is getting a bagging. It is not his fault that our batters have sucked and he has been the brunt of that, sometimes by the selectors themselves and forced to bat in all different places. We will never know what he might have achieved had we had a decent top order enabling him to bat at 7 for his career and come in a 5 for plenty, instead of 5 for not many.

I hear that Graham Manou knows about this thread.....

I'm sure he didn't use it as inspiration but I'm betting you at some point he thought about it and laughed after he scored a century and took the state keeping record all in the same match.

Ludeman will have his time.

But South Australia's propensity for dumping on its own shouldn't take this bloke.

Media, you have my word on that, I am just a great admirer of class, heaven knows we haven't produced a lot of it in SA over the years.

We produced one of the leading SS run scorers this season, and a two lads pushing for baggy green honours (and one not far behind at all, although stiffer competition).

Problem is that two of the guys I am referring to aren't in our squad anymore...

If we as SA Cricket supporters hang our hats on Manou, we are in a hell of a bad position.

Not having a dig, but my thoughts are that Manou isn't that great...

Media, fair enough, but my question, what are you rating his wicketkeeping & batting, or just his wicketkeeping.

Hope Manou makes 1000 runs this season
Thats the frustrating part about him, its knowing what he is capable of
Just hope he contunes batting well
Keepers batting at 6 still need to be avaraging 35/40 with the bat in the SS
Keepers batting at 7 differ, runs are more of a bonus

Mal, agree with all of that, I come back to an earlier point, ever since Manou has played our batters have basically sucked, either forcing him to bat higher in the order or come in at 5 for not very many, we can either blame Manou or blame the cause, I am a fan as all know, so personally I blame the cause, poor team, no runs, too much pressure on a No. 7 batter at first class level to either bat higher or rescue the team.
