Ok so its safe to say our best three weapons are

George
Putland
Haberfield.

Can we play all three?

Harris
Thornton
Klinger
Cooper
Ferguson
Davey
Obrien
Christian
Haberfield
Putland
George

Thoughts?

I guess you guys think that Opie's efforts in the first innings were poor. 28 overs 1/41 is outstanding bowling. Similar to what McDonald does for Victoria in the 4 dayers.. and as usual, the wickets came at the other end with Haberfield getting 5. Good partnership bowling.

Hopefully Delaney stays sound.
If he does he would certainly be a strong consideration.
Fair way to go yet though with match fitness

Partnership bowling is a good thing I agree. I'm not sure we need to play a spinner, but O'Brien is a containing, tight, pressure building bowler, and wickets will fall if a Putland/George type is at the other end, and he can handle himself with the bat.
I don't know anything about Opie, is he a seamer? Can he hold a bat?

Has made a grand total of 7 runs from 3 hits batting 9 or 10 in all forms of cricket for his club Kensington. So I'd suggest he can hold a bat but can't do much after that....

Thornton made 232 without a bowler dismissing him.
A few guys havnt done any harm to their chances of playing shield cricket.

Thats the problem - they havent done themselves any harm but it doesnt mean that they're ready.
This competition is still barely above A grade cricket at best.

H31, not only that, he has all the shots, spoke to a couple of good judges after his runs against Prospect and they were very impressed. Apparently his facebook status has now changed to batting allrounder after 2 poles on the weekend - sense of humour too.
