that is unfortunate as he and smith are the only two players we have that play for 6 points. take those 2 outand we wouldve been lucky to get to about 220 in a full day on a road in hot weather. some peeple on here bag the adelaide oval track for being to batter friendly which i agree with to an extent but out batters also show intent for positive play. it was the same last year until they brought cossie in at the end of the season and we suddnely started winning.
you can not win shield games at adelaide against a decent opposition scoring less than 3.5 an over let alone the miserable rate we scored at for most of yesterday

BUT
Over a long period of time The Adelaide Oval deck has been less friendlier to bowlers than most other decks in Australia
Its harder for a quota of up to 40 wickets to be taken
By definition that means by all probability less chance of outright victorys compared to other states venues
QL has a huge advantage over SA
The bowler friendly Gabba is a results producing venue
Those same bowlers who are skittling teams in QL come to SA and have us 4/334 at present
Last week we had VIcs scoring 450 in a day
Drawn game still

Over 123.5: Walter to O'Brien, one run, drives to deep point, SA were actually 4/553 after Day 1 - a record score on the opening day of a Shield game
