Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it ? How many people would have said Manou would have been second choice keeper for Australia at the start of the year? Not many i would say... and interestingly enough i did not see you make a call early? Sitting on the fence until a decision was made?

I've seen some ridiculous calls on this site, but that takes the cake! I can't believe there could be so much negativity towards a South Australian on the verge of representing his country! He has not put a foot wrong in recent times and deserves the chance he's getting. I for one would love to see him in the side at the expense of Haddin.

Posed the question about Manou, never said he was a certainty, but didn't make stupid comments writing him off either!

I was not referring to you.

You started the thread and gave your opinion and you were right so it was a good call.

of coarse they will take a back up keeper. They dont want there opener to have to keep if haddin gets injured. to much pressure on a bloke who is yet to debut. but i think Choc will go he is only 29 and he is definently the best gloveman in the country, and he will get picked by the selectors in the Team of the year again

lucky they took him hey pidge

Most importantly, just two byes were conceded in the innings. And this is how Cricinfo saw it:

59.2: Johnson to Prior, 2 byes, the first real stray from Johnson, and the crowd love it. Wings it wide of the leg stump. Manou doesn't have a hope. What a winner

I've been so proud of Graham Manou as our South Aussie skipper. Footwork and hands have been sensational. Great work Choc!!
I think people are seing how good he is, a couple of those one handed takes in the early overs last night were sensational.

Tough to beat Haddin averaging 80 with the bat.... but will make life interesting if Haddin misses the rest of the series and Choc shows the value of having a better keeper than batsman!

what do people think of the potential of haddin coming back into the side as a batter, where he can rest his finger somewhat in the field and let choc keep the gloves,. haddin has been our best batter and if north fails tonight? what do people think?

Good thinking cuz. Choc probably bowls better offies than Marcus, could turn into a Tim Zoehrer
bits & pieces player with Haddin in the side. :D

If Haddin plays he keeps wicket. He and Manou won't play in the same side.
