Point taken about being new on the site
and showing no respect to SW.

This business all started when a mate
brought it to my attention recently so
i decided to bring it up , he had done the
stats ....I also thought it was not true.

Once again sorry to all if you are offended
whether I am right or wrong.

Wow, mal new to the site just on a year ago  Certainly seems like you've been around much longer. What a start you had as well bagging Steve Waugh. Seems like after this you've spent the rest of the past year trying in vain to convince everyone that Watto deserves to be in the Australian side

Anyway 1st year anniversary for mal. Congratulations. 14.51 posts per day. Fair effort that especially considering 13.51 have been about Shane Watson.

FFS mal, can you give it a rest with stats. Stats can be used to prove anything. 98.5 percent of people know that

Going by stats Murilitharan is a better bowler than Shane Warne by quite a bit. Do you think that is true?

ROD Using your stats dont show the real ...
Yeah his average of 25 in 2nd digs does not show the real story ALL THE LAST DIG FAILURES

ROD lets face reality here he let his team down with ordinary batting in the 4th innings
ROD lets face reality here he was a superstar in the earlier innings and a matchwinner
ROD lets face reality that the stats are a reasonable guide to the facts

Stats show that WARNE + MURALICHUCHERATHAN are 2 of the best spinners of all time
Stats show BRADMAN was the greatest ever
Stats show that MCGRATH is one of the greatest

Stats are not always right but coincidently the people with the best stats are usually the best players

WAUGH averages 60+ batting 1st innings [only Bradman I think has a higher ist dig average for all australians]
WAUGH averages 25 batting in the 4th innings[many many australian batsmen average better]

I have the upmost respect for Steve Waugh as a cricketer
BUT
He did all his great work in the first innings in test matches.

The perception that he was always a reliable courageous batsman
is in fact a myth.

Statistically he is a choker and a failure when the pressure
was on batting last chasing small totals.

His final test v India was a rare good second innings when he
saved us from defeat, however in general he choked.

Allan Border gets my vote when the chips were down.

You goose Mal.

After the first duck he tonned up next dig to set up a win @ Cape Town (he got a bag of wickets too)
After that 3rd duck (a year apart) he made 99* at the WACA once again to set up a win.....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
