10 years ago they had a show on Channel 9 about WSC - got most of it on tape somewhere; it had some of the highlights from the 1st Supertest in 1977, the first match underlights at both Waverley and Sydney. Those were the only commentators I could hear on there.

Cos they made the decision that he had to go from the on-air line up yet he would stay on the payroll so had to go somewhere.

OK, let's see who is quick off the mark.

Channel 9 missed out on the rights to a Carribean tour in the mid-1990s.

Which company secured the rights?
What was the name of their channel which held the rights?
Which FTA network bought the FTA coverage rights off them?

CLUES: The commentators included rookies David Hookes and Dean Jones (?).

BTW, can someone (Spelly?) fill us in on the year ... my mind says mid-1990s when "cable" was permitted ... and I have had too much champers to care for Googling it because it has been 41 in Perth for the past two days and I have to go to work tomorrow and finalise the ground allocations for Country Week. At least I will have access to a TV and a radio whilst I do so.

Can you do the rest?

It comes from the Obscure Thoughts Department in my head. Always thought it would come in handy for a stumper.

Just like "What is Eckhardt Arbeit's connection to Australian sport?"

Clock starts ... now!

Galaxy
Premiers Sports Network (PSN)
Channel 10

Spelly's right 1995....Commentators included Tony Cozier, Mike Coward, David Hookes, Dean Jones, Carl Rackerman (when relieved of his net bowling duties)....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

That's gold, boys ... Premier Sports Network is where we saw "Spin Vision" (a close up of the ball in flight to a batsman) for the first time!

... and Eckhardt Arbeit? Think 1999!

I recall Kerry O'Keefe doing local games and I think Mick Malone did some as well, however I don't think either of them reached the dizzy heights of international games.

BTW, Kerry was the worst commentator by a mile because he wasn't being himself - he was far too straight on the TV. Much better being himself on the radio IMO.
