Yep I was at the game Wundke took the catch (think it was still MacDonalds Cup back then  ) ... Knocked it down one handed and turned while falling to catch ... Reckon Haysman made 100* on the final ball of the innings that day.

Better player than I could ever have imagined being, but at first class level na I didn't rate him mate ... Useful, but I'd have him a long way down the pecking order.

What about Brad Young, useful spinner and late order bat...

Interesting that we won that 1983/84 final with possibly our weakest ever bowling lineup!

Nah, just a novelty team, not so much to say they should be in there, just another team.

But I also mean say a player like Les Favell, who may have played about one or two matches, should someone like that be in there?

I think Les Favell would have retired before one day cricket became established. I think we'd have to judge them on performances in that particular type of cricket, not the fact that they could have been great if they played more games.

Fair enough, I was just trying to establish how many games someone would have to have played to get into the greatest team.

But don't doubt Ecky on Les Favell! ;)

Alot of people saying Elliott should not be in the team, I think If we look at his record for S.A it would take some beating.

I dont think anyone has questioned his one day form, its his form in the 4 day games that people have been discussing at length.

I presumed you were talking about the South Australian side in general and not the one day side in particular, but i can see now you're talking about people's comments in this thread re the SA greatest one day side and not his place in the SA side. Personally i wouldn't have him in the side because hes only played for SA for 2 or 3 years, not 10 or so like others such as Nobes, Darling, Bishop etc.

Douggie Walters was a great cricketer, the prototype for Steve Waugh although he probably didn't play all that many one day matches for the Blues, they didn't play as many domestic one day games back in Douggie's day. Greg Matthews shits on Robertson from a great height, I'd have McGill (more expensive but takes wickets) in ahead of Robertson. Shane Lee didn't go on with it but did have many good performances for the Blues.

Other Blueboys who go close are the Kat, the Pup, John Dyson, Tubby Taylor and firebrand Wayne Holdsworth. Fair side there.
