That's fine in theory but what if most times its the other States choosing ice baths and our lads are choosing beer?

Why are we so far behind everyone else we still have 4 current and former test players in our line up compared to only 1 for Vic and Tas?

We're behind everyone else because our batting is crap. That's a technical and mental problem which won't be solved by a strict regime.

but I am fairly certain that this player is not involved in these off field shenanigans. FWIW I think that the main protagonists of this bad culture are now gone. now its the other members (younger ones) of this bad culture group that need to be targeted and put on the straight and narrow or shown the door.

To move forward the whole coaching structure must be looked at from the bottom of the High performance set up to the top. We have a good group of U/17 & 19s in the system after winning the u/17 champs last season and they must now be pointed in the right direction to take the next step.

There maybe a bit more pain along the way but if its done right there should be results at the end of the tunnel.

Heater I'd check your sources because I'm hearing differently I'm not posting it because its hearsay. The problem is, as you have correctly pointed out, the poor culture has permiated to the younger group.

I agree with your point about reviewing the whole high performance structure to ensure continuity from the development phase U/15-U/17 through to the shield side. IMHO the structure personnel at the top is fine it is the structure underneath that needs reviewing.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I agree that being strict just for the sake of it is not the answer

But the hypothetical question I am asking is what if our preparation, training & fitness is less than the standard being set by the other states?

Technical problems can be overcome by hard work and training. If we are doing everything we can to be the best and still come up short then I can cop that ..... if not, well that's another story.
In between signatures .....
