F*ck em. If Christensen is better then too bad. They can just go back and work harder to earn another chance. Competition for spots is something SA cricket really needs. If these guys can't hack it the they aren't up to it anyway.

Too may players vying for spots can add more pressure on the players in the teams
The depth theory works at Footy because you can run chase train and commit harder.
As a batsman in cricket it gets mostly down to skill and luck.

Ferguson and Delmont are doing OK at the minute.
Having Daniel Christain come over could put added pressure on them.

Crap. Having more pressure will produce either better performances or produce performances that prove guys are not up to it.

The young SA players need to know if they don't perform they will be dropped. At the moment they can play badly but there is no-one to take there place.

Disagree slightly ROD
When your playing for your spot and your career thats added pressure.
SA Batsman who flourished in 2005-2006 and batted fluently and better,
then batted at times apprehensively and at times more sedately after some failures 2006-2007
Everytime J BORGAS/C BORGAS/ DELMONT/ FERGUSON go out to bat
its with the mindset that a failure or 3 and they are out of the team.

The above applies to unestablished young players in SA

C BORGAS is a classic example
Had a brilliant 2005-2006 season and made a couple of big 100s
Was going fairly in 2006-2007 and was injured and out for the year
This year he has struggled and every time he bats he is under pressure

Players at International level are superior players and yes they do bat
better when a player is breathing down thier necks and respond more often then not.
Those players are mostly mature established state cricketers and aged between 25-30 years old

Yeah it is Daniel Christian. Didn't get a contract with NSW this year. Apparently he's been assured a gig in the Franger Cup match against WA on Wed. Big call from the selectors!

So that's where Christian got to! How can we not give the guy a contract when our batting sucks?? He can...and should play for the Redbacks. Man, we keep Lambert and Forrest and get rid of Christian! WTF?? :?

these guys apart from delmont have had long enough to secure a spot in the team- they can have no complaints if someone else comes in and gets a shot at it too

Futher to hand
With Lehmann + Cosi late scratchings vrs NSW.
Tom Plant was contacted to play but uncontactable.
It gets worse Daniel Harris was also uncontactable
3rd time lucky Cam Borgas

Maybe the company 3 can sponsor SA ?

So they were out on the piss the night before the game, seems to be the thing it do in SA. Again SA cricket is a disgrace. Tait should move to NSW before the culture and crap here consumes him.

No they weren't out on the piss the night before. They were both told they'd be playing in the 2nd XI game on Mon and weren't told to be on standby for the PC match.

As I have said
SA need a new sponsor
3

Eags I do remember that post of yours
I mentioned it again because Dan Harris was also uncontactable.

Considering BOOF could hardly walk and COSI had a lump om his elbow 2 days earlier
you would have thought 2 or maybe 3 players should have been on standby

Heres one for you guys
MATT ELLIOTT batting in the middle order ......
He would be a success there in my opinion

Not a bad call mal. I guess the biggest problem is he has always opened or been at three. If he could get used to waiting around then it could be successful. Problem is that Elliott likes opening and doesn't like waiting around. I remember when he was batting at 3 for Australia him saying he hated the waiting around part. He used to be on edge and had to do some boxing or some other form of energy release in the rooms.

What has he got to lose ?

He opens and invariably gives the keeper + the 3 slips catching practice in the first 10 overs.
Batting at 5 the probability of being out in slips against slower bowlers or opening
bowlers with an older ball diminish appreciably.

He was a great opener because he spent 1/2 his career playing on lower bouncing MCG tracks.
Adelaide oval in the last few years in the p/cup games have been bouncy and faster than the MCG.
At 36 it is no disgrace to be losing your best form and I think the middle order could be Matts salvation

DIETZ is the same batting at 6+ 7 he averaged about 50 last year
As an opener before last year + this year his average must be about 25

I would love ELLIOTT to succeed in a middle order to make me look good
