agreed. For all his faults at least Cowan tries to get behind the ball. If we could flick that dud Hughes we'd be better off as well. The Poms must be pi55ing themselves laughing that he keeps on making our side.

Not sure Boof is the right person with this perceived 'culture' problem within the National Squad. Didn't exactly leave on good terms with hierarchy when playing.....

Correct about cowan, probably my favourite in the side at the moment. Warner is fun in limited overs stuff, but I'd rather him out of our test side. Must be Hughes' last chance on tour, hope he makes a bucket of runs, but dunno...

Off this topic how do the selectors pick Finch in the Australia A side. He averaged 11 and was dropped from the Victorian side. Ferg started last year slow but probably deserves a spot in the Aust A side

Surely selection couldn't get any worse!!!

Wasn't it Bradman who said before the 60/61 series to Richie Benaud that selectors would look favourably towards those who entertain?

Steve Smith tipped to earn late call-up to Ashes squad after impressing with bat for Australia A

Exactly.
Also see that Ahmed's citizenship has been fast tracked and he becomes an Aussie next week, id imagine he will play the first test

England

Runs - Ian Bell. Due for a big series against Australia

Wickets - Stuart Broad. Pick of the English bowlers.

Australia

Runs - Phil Hughes. Got a feeling this will be his big series and cement his spot.

Wickets - Peter Siddle. Will be the last quick standing after the others breakdown.
