I'd have opened with Christian here. Letting Dilshan bowl a few tight overs early with the field up only hurts us later, it's almost like giving up 2 overs. Send Christian out there so we've got a RH/LH combination to make him less effective and hit over the top early to take advantage of the field restrictions. If he gets out, it's one less hitter down the order but with M. Hussey and D. Hussey we've got plenty of firepower.

Haven't thought his series has been woeful.
Averages nearly 24, one less than M Hussey.
Also has a bowling average of 25, Doherty is going at 40 a piece, Lee at 31, McKay at 26.3
People are quick to write him off. Sheesh.
Right in front of me. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!

Seriously Mal do you really think 4 v 6 in a one dayer makes that much difference?
You could bat between 3 and 7 and still be coming into bat in the same over as he did.

It makes a big difference. Maybe not in today's game but overall yes. Not many make a ton at number six. It normally needs an experienced guy like a Bevan or Hussey to control the tempo of an innings as well. Woody has only played a couple of games and needs to come in earlier.

Well he got out on a pretty ordinary shot to a timid delivery.
The killer blow was M Hussey getting run out for 1. After the good start by Warner why not change the batting order?
