Selfless declaration.
Or was it?

Is it all part of the repackaging of Michael Clarke? Well that's what the haters will say, anyway.

WHAT A BLOODY INNINGS CONGRATULATIONS MICHAEL CLARKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ps, is Clarke running a massive PR campaign this summer, firstly the Clarke story channel nine have been running continously and secondly the declaration with the record in sight showing Clarke is a team man first image.

Fair enough if rain is forecast but pretty disappointed we didn't get the chance to see Clarke have a crack at 400!

Fantastic innings by the skipper though.

Be interesting to see now how Pattinson bowls on this road. Another test for the youngster, has done well so far however this could be a tad different

I will criticise Clarke if he doesnt have a crack at the record ;)
Once in a lifetime opportunity, not even at halfway point of match. Plenty of time to spare

I agree! Really hope he goes on with it, would be nice to see an Aussie hold it.

Really hoping he doesn't make 400.Records are made to be broken but would like to see Lara hold it for a fair while longer yet as he was a champion batsman unlike Clarke. History shows Clarke will get out b4 400 tho.

Declared b4 he got out. Nice little average booster for Clarke and also Hussey. ;)

Personally would've batted on til at least the Tea break.

Also, the sponsorless bat.

Oh the conspiracies.
It's wonderful that the Indians have chosen to take part in the rehabilitation of his reputation.

My opinion of Clarke since he has become captain has improved greatly, his been first class both on field with his captaincy and off field with his efforts he appears to be making.

This is a beaudiful batting deck
Even SheWhack should be hitting them all in the middle
Its so good Gambhir might edge it all the way to gully instead of slip

My prediction
The Indians WILL make runs on this deck

Pretty keen to see what the Aussie bowlers can do on this pitch. Is it a road or have India just made it look like that with poor bowling??
