Still think that rule that cost Beer a wicket is a joke. If that same ball was left through to the keeper, would Bowden have called for a referral? I highly doubt it. Therefore he is placing a wicket of a higher regard than a run. It may be so but It could be the difference between a win or loss

I don't mind the fact he was given not out....because he should've been.
He bowled a no-ball - therefore he was not out.
I'm just worried that they're missing no-balls - the easiest part of the umpire's job.

I actually find no-balls the 2nd hardest factor of umpiring, you have a split second to make your mind up and call it, if you don't act within 1/100th of a second, you are too late.

I've come to the conclusion that despite a lot being said about out bowling, I think the batting has been where the biggest problem lies.
I think the bowlers have performed admirably attempting to defend mediocre totals. They have been left up **** creek by the batsmen in every test, having to mop up the mess with lower order batting to make a disasterous total a workable one, and then backing up to defend it with the ball.
England's batsmen have looked calm and untroubled at the crease because they haven't been. They have not had to chase a substantial total in all 5 tests, and have scored freely without being shackled by any scoreboard pressure. They have been free to play each ball on it's merits, without any urgency to catch a huge total or beat 5th day stumps for a win.
At the end of the series I hope the Australian bowlers aren't on the end of too much finger pointing. I reckon they've done a fairly solid job considering the poo they've been left in consistently.
