I hardly watched any of the days play yesterday due to playing cricket myself and just watched the highlights on the Sri Lankan cricket YouTube channel. I know Sri Lanka played poorly and some of the dismissals you'd be disappointed with at club level but I'm stoked Kuhnemann got wickets and same with Lyon after not having to do much during the BGT, both obviously outperformed their SL counter parts.

Starc with a cheeky 2/13 and 1/14 too getting his bunny Karunaratne out again and took with 700th international wicket too, joining Warne, McGrath and Lee at the mark. I wonder if he'll play the second test? Or he'll be swapped with Boland? I guess it depends on the conditions/pitch, the second test pitch might be more of a ragger than the first test's?

I assume the top 7 will remain the same, almost everything worked for the Aussies, Labuschagne would want a decent score right about now.

Carey rightfully won't be replaced by Inglis so it would only leave Labuschagne so that Inglis could remain (given i doubt they would ever not play an all rounder these days)

I'm not as convinced, but whilst no one is bashing the door down, he is safe.

If Inglis & Webster keep up their performances, it may make life interesting with Green to return and Head back to the middle order.

The second test will be Dimuth Karunaratne's 100th test and he will retire, he has scored the most test runs as an opener since the start of 2015 (6226 at 40.96) but has only averaged 27.05 since the start of 2024. Hopefully he will let Starc get him out for a Tenth time to see him off.

Harsh on Murphy if true. I thought he bowled ok. Dare i say it was more accurate and bowled more consistent lines the Kuhnemann, just didnt bowl any wicket taking balls. Kuhnemann was good but he did bowl some full tosses, half trackers to go with some great wicket taking deliveries.
