There's a YouTube channel for all the major cricket boards, I just searched it on YouTube and the highlight came up.

I know Sri Lanka played poorly and some of the dismissals you'd be disappointed with at club level but I'm stoked Kuhnemann got wickets and same with Lyon after not having to do much during the BGT, both obviously outperformed their SL counter parts.

Starc with a cheeky 2/13 and 1/14 too getting his bunny Karunaratne out again and took with 700th international wicket too, joining Warne, McGrath and Lee at the mark. I wonder if he'll play the second test? Or he'll be swapped with Boland? I guess it depends on the conditions/pitch, the second test pitch might be more of a ragger than the first test's?

I assume the top 7 will remain the same, almost everything worked for the Aussies, Labuschagne would want a decent score right about now.
Yeah, can’t see any changes. Starc only had a training run.
The WTC looks far more of a talking point.
Green looks ready to go and Trav will slot back into 5 or 6 so you would think Webster and or Inglis will have to make way if they open with Konstas.

If Aust can get a game into Konstas or Connolly, I’d be doing that, maybe at the expense of Marnus and Murphy.

We haven’t won a series on SL for nearly 20 years. Doubt we will make any changes

Marnus should be making way but there won't be any changes.

At absolute most it would be Starc for Boland just so Starc can have a rest but don't think they will do that.

Marnus' Adelaide and Melbourne tests have bought him a heap of credits regardless of what we all think.

It makes you wonder what his team mates really think of him, the way Starc told him to settle down when he made that ridiculous appeal against India could be an insight.

I once asked Greg Ritchie if there was anyone in the Aussie side that he didn't like, he replied "Greg Matthews was a deadset f***head".

Boland's length wouldn't be as lethal in Galle as it is in Australia.

Yeah, agree Labu is there for the seeable. Things would get interesting if he failed again and Inglis was to hit another big score. Carey rightfully won't be replaced by Inglis so it would only leave Labuschagne so that Inglis could remain (given i doubt they would ever not play an all rounder these days)

Agree Boland wouldn't be as lethal, he would only come in if the selectors felt Starc needed a rest but highly unlikely given the overs he bowled in the first test.

I'm not as convinced, but whilst no one is bashing the door down, he is safe.

If Inglis & Webster keep up their performances, it may make life interesting with Green to return and Head back to the middle order.

Immunity may have been revoked.

Unsubstantiated reports on SM that Labuschagne netted after the "test team" and will make way for Connolly tomorrow.

Time will tell
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

The second test will be Dimuth Karunaratne's 100th test and he will retire, he has scored the most test runs as an opener since the start of 2015 (6226 at 40.96) but has only averaged 27.05 since the start of 2024. Hopefully he will let Starc get him out for a Tenth time to see him off. :)

Thought there was an opportunity to bring in a few.
Boland for Starc
Connolly for Webster
McSweeney for Marnus
And yes, agree Goggles could have been given a break too, however the pitch is a reported dustbowl.

I guess we'll know for sure what happens come 2:30

Harsh on Murphy if true. I thought he bowled ok. Dare i say it was more accurate and bowled more consistent lines the Kuhnemann, just didnt bowl any wicket taking balls. Kuhnemann was good but he did bowl some full tosses, half trackers to go with some great wicket taking deliveries.
