Australia likely to go into the record books as the first team EVER to declare and still lose by an innings

Australian cricket looks a long way off of being competative on the international arena.

In any form.

Our day will come, but it's a long, long, way off... :(

We are apparantly the first side ever to declare in the first innings and lose

That isn't correct. England declared in the first innings here in Adelaide in 2006 and lost.

I think PPLions comment may be correct though.

keep the faith boys. I wouldn't like to be playing in India. It is a foul place, the pitches are a disgrace, parts of the game are probably rigged somehow by the Punjab Mafiaoso, not the slightest bit of crowd support. Bleah!
We will open up in England and do well. I'm sure of it

All is not lost. If Australia start picking the team on the best available instead of trying too be cute.

Instead of picking 3 allrounders(1 who can't bowl) and a wicketkeeper at 6 , pick a side that Australia has had success with. That means your best 6 batsman, best wicketkeeper and 4 best bowlers. Time to keep it simple.

The other thing Australia should be doing, is picking a side of test cricketers. I know some people won't like it, but Warner Watson, Maxwell and Doherty aren't test cricketers, and never will be. They would be my first picks in 20/20 though. ;)

CA must take the majority of blame for this debacle, the preparation for this tour was diabolical, we had half the team get over there a week later than the rest so the they could play meaningless T20's, ODI's etc.
We all know India is unique and we dont face any decent spinners in Australian domestic cricket, yet we play a couple 3 day warmup games.
CA should of picked a squad a month ago and taken them to India, too bad if they miss ODI's or domestic cricket.
The coaching staff should of found the dodgiest pitches in India and paid local Indian spinners to bowl non stop at them for 3 weeks. I hope our preparation for England is far better, this has been a shemozzle from Day 1

You are probably on the money here. IMO T20 has ruined cricket. I really hate it even though I aknowledge we are being force fed the bloody form to keep up with the rest of the world.

I heard one of the commentators mention the next 2 pitches wont take as much spin and will be more pace friendly.
After todays debacle the Indians would be hurrying to doctor those pitches if they were smart.
Id be offering the Aussies more of the same, no way would I be letting them back into the series

Warner has a bit of work to do but I think he is the only one of those 4 that could make it as a test player

I hate 20/20 also. Let India have it. Scrap the Big Bash, and get back to developing players for the long form of the game.

Outstanding. Post of the year. =D>

Australian Cricket never needed teeball in the first place. Now the Shield is full of 'batsmen' who can't build an innings and our pitches are all roads so that teams can post 150+ in the Big Bash league. We've been sold down the river by this joke of a format. RIP Test Cricket. :(
