I also think we need a batsman at 6, we have always been successful with 6 batsman, keeper and 4 bowlers.
Going back to Steve Waugh, Lehmann and most recently Huss

I dont mind the pitches, i agree when visiting countries come to Aus i wanna see the GABBA and WACA rock hard, lightning quick.

Its great that most countries are recongnised by the type of pitches they create and the style of players they produce.

Sub Continent= Spinners paradise
Australia= bouncy fast pitches, big crowds, great for batsmen
England= green tops great for swing and seam
South Africa= fast bowlers dream, plenty of movement and bounce

Agree, we have to produce pitches to our advantage. We have plenty of quicks but no decent spinners. We should be preparing 5 decks like the WACA and play 5 quicks. Sick of us giving the Indians slow decks in Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne. The GABBA is also a shadow of its old self

Agree, the most entertaining tests i have watched recently have been the ones in South Africa against the Aussies, Pakis and Kiwis.

Clarkes 100 odd in 'that' test (the one where we were bowled out for 40 odd) was one of the best knocks i have seen in the last 10 years.

Yep we batted on Day 1 when conditions were at their best. Always felt we were 100 short first innings, too many guys couldnt convert their good starts
