They have a really good opening bowling combo, both blokes got into the 140kms

UAE have made a good start against the Zimmers as well

Most importantly though Afgan are still above the Poms on the ladder :D

Emirates are a real shot, made 7/285 and have the Zimmers 5/175 with 16 overs to go

**** all chance of play on Saturday for Australia in Brisbane. If they did play I reckon our hopes of a green top may be answered.

Well really depends on how much of a problem a cat 5 storm can be. I think they could get say about 250mm, surely the drainage systems should be ok with that ;)

Heading inland and dumping a shitload of rain on us right now as we speak. Hasn't stopped raining since about 3 yesterday and not expecting it to for a while yet. No chance.

What chance the Poms not making the quarters?

Bangladesh and Afghanistan have to pull out some massive upsets for the Poms to miss out. West Indies probably have more chance of missing the QFs than England

Bangladesh look like having a draw with the Aussies for starters.

My current XI
McCullum
Amla
de Villiers
Sangakarra
Smith
Kohli
Al Hasan
Faulkner
Johnson
Steyn
Southee

I was very impressed with Al Hasan in the BBL both this year and last.

Warner and Finch are probably the best two openers when on song but they've lacked consistency lately.

They would need to beat England to get through. Although the Poms are 9/119 atm so Bangladesh might be able to knock them off, that game is in Adelaide too.

Pity the Poms batted first otherwise the Kiwis might have enforced the follow-on.

The way we're going there'll be plenty of time for a T20 match to pan out the day.
