Yep a nice fightback from the abyss by Smith and Clarke.

Just no sure what this type of batting is trying to prove, 18 runs from the last 12 overs

great captaincy by strauss and well backed up by the bowler. I dont think clarke deserves to be left out of the next test, would expect to see ponting, hughes or smith go before him if they were going to make a change. They wont make any changes so nothing to worry about.

They will; Harris is already out, how can u keep a guyt in the side that is so out of form with his batting he cant score runs, ball before he got out he got a rank full toss outside off stump and played a gentle push to midoff that is how out of form he is, Ponting will stay & i would leave Hughes in and open him with Katich, bat Watson at 6

are you for real,

name one occasion when michael clarke has stepped up for Australia when we have been in trouble.

is it possible to get his stats on when he comes into bat with the score less than 50.

80 odd in adelaide. has done a shed load more then ponting recently and hughes shouldn't be in the squad to start with. a lot of players in worse form then what clarke currently is.

I know harris injured but pretty sure i just saw mj with crutches whats up there?
Surely clarke and ponting have to go the ashes are gone its a dead rubber in sydney lets plan ahead. Id love to see them throw in khawaja, maddison, fergy, okeefe and copeland but the gutless pricks will stick basically with same team apart from any injuries. We botched this whole series up in every way possible. The english prepared well while the aussies were playing useless one dayers in india. Whoever is responsible should be sacked. We had a captain with no form and no idea in the field. Has been a disaster for last 12 months time for some bloodletting

Clarke next captain
Would be lucky to get a game.
Our number 3 and 4 batsmen have shown the spine of a jellyfish this series. Guys are averaging in the 70's in shield not getting a game.
What shits me the most is ponting and clarke putting themselves before the team. Everyone could see that both have played under duress through series, no shame in sitting out a match. You dont recover from a broken finger in a week but ponting was always going to play this test, very selfish ricky

Whoops I missed one. 4 to go, effectively 3 if Harris doesn't bat.

That Ponting & Clarke have done nothing this series, stated that Ponting got easy runs in Brisbane when the game was heading for a draw and that Clarke got runs in adelaide when the game was done and dusted, said both had failed when the going got tough in this series

All they have to say is that they are in form and hitting them well but just getting out.

It worked for Mark Taylor for how many tests ??????

He is correct though.

Ponting deserves chances to fix an extended run of failures IMO.

Clarke on the other hand is a frontrunning peaheart who never deserved to be picked in the side in the 1st place.
Lucky he's made himself available for IPL as I'm sure clubs will be queuing up for his services there.

For the last test I'd drop Ponting down the order to bat at #6; Smith looks an ideal #8 Test batsman, Hauritz has to play at the SCG and if Clarke wants to be the next Test Captain he should bat at #3 and show some mettle. My team is:
Watson
Hughes
Clarke
Khawaja
Hussey
Ponting (c)
Haddin
Smith
Hauritz
Siddle
Hifenhaus or Johnson for the last spot.
