Boucher has played by far the most matches, yet has only 15th most stumpings (22)

Most stumpings
52 Oldfield
46 Evans
38 Kirmani
37 Gilchrist

Only because I love Boucher, Oldfield would have had Grimmett and O'Reilly for most of his career, Gilly had Warney (and MacGill). Would Evans and Kirmani have had dominant spinners? I think the ridiculous amount of catches is testament to the quicks he's kept to, rather than his skills. Donald and Pollock earlier on, Steyn, Morkel, Nel recently, Kallis throughout the whole journey...

Day 2 South Africa v Australia

Aussies collapse 8/10
- Biggest ever test collapse by Australia

- Most is 27 (Eng v Aus, Lords 1888)

47
- Australia's lowest score since they scored 36 (Australia's lowest ever score in 1902 v England)
- Australia's previous lowest score v South Africa was 75 in 1950
- The last time a country scored less than 47 was England 46 v West Indies 1994

Four innings in a day
- 3rd time in test history all four innings have been played on a single day. (the previous two times though there was not a wicket taken in the fourth innings)
- First time a batsman for both sides was dismissed twice in a day (Clarke & Rudolph)

Nathan Lyon 14
- Highest score in Australian second innings
- 8th time number 11 batsman has top scored, although this is the lowest individual score of the eight

Quick 5 fwicket hauls

- 5th best match bowling figures for South Africa on debut (best SF Burtke 11/196 in 1962)

Jacques Kallis 0

South Africa win?
- If South Africa win the first innings deficit of 148 will be the largest turn around to win
10th wicket partnership of 26
- The 10th wicket partnership accounted for more than half of the team score, only the second time this has happened. The other was a partnership of 107 (out of 209) by England v West indies in 1980

An Indian statistician on twitter posted the following:

And (Darren) Bravo scores 136, which means after 12 Tests he has scored 941 runs at 47.05... exactly Lara's stats after 12 Tests

Quirky!

Darren Bravo is an absolute ripper, saw him play in the U19 World Cup a couple of years ago and said to a mate then he looks like a Lara clone ,is total class and will score 5000 test runs. After watching some of his latest ton v India my opinion hasn't changed. The most exciting batting prospect to enter world cricket in the last 5 years by far. Hope he shows us that class when the Windies come out here next.

Heard an interesting one on ABC yesterday.
James Pattinson is the first bowler since Rodney Hogg to claim 5 in an innings in both of his first two tests

Dean Brownlie...half centuries in first three matches

Brownlie becomes only the third Kiwi to achieve this in test cricket
(The other two Sutcliffe and Reid, both legends in NZ cricket)

VD Philander

- In six test bowling innings he has taken four 5 wicket hauls. He is only the third player (CTB Turner and Tom Richardson) to achieve this
