MAL, what does beer goggles have to do with Strauss being a cheat?

Final word on this ... if it was a half volley, maybe, just maybe ... but he scooped the f***ing thing off the grass!

That Strauss could sit there and say that they were all confused and that Anderson had spilt drinks on his gloves etc. when questioned about the obvious time wasting tactics clearly shows he is a liar and that he is a shameless one as well. Then to claim what he WOULD have known wasn't a catch just proves he is also a cheat. Liar and a cheat. His parents must be proud.

Comment of the day from Atherton on the LBW appeal against Punter on the last ball before lunch ... not even Rudi can give that one out

Nothing inconclusive about it. When you claim a catch you know you haven't taken ... you're a cheat. Simple as that.

I've taken catches I could have SWORN were out, only to be told that the damn thing looked pretty dodgy. I don't think I'm a cheat and always try to play fairly. Diving forward is a tough tough thing. Cheat is a very big call for Strauss.

BUT why has that pig headed idiot Rudi not referred it? He's wilfully chosen not to. It's easy to have a case of sour grapes, but geez. This is clearly a case of one sided umpiring, whether deliberate or not.

Watching Hughes' dismissal again what is his back foot doing going back towards fine leg??? Get back and across and his head is over the ball - less chance of nicking it. As I've said before I reckon he will make a mountain of test runs but you can see he still has plenty of work to do to tighten up.

Best place to learn is out there confident he can get through this and adapt.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

The ICC are totally to blame. NFI about consistency. Sack the umpires that have the guts to stand up to the CHEATS of the game and keep the Fukn useless incompetent ones.
Referrals are used in one series and not the next.
Talking about 4 day tests, i mean WTF are they on about.
Have the useless IDIOTS of the ICC made ANY competent changes to the game in recent times?
Getting rid of RUDI would be a good start.

Great post particularly the bit about them hanging Hair out to dry. Ironic that the spineless Doctrove who slipped out of that is umpiring in this Test.

Amazing. The Poms (mainly Pietersen) scored buckets of runs with the french cut. Ponting does it once and is bowled.

I think we can say goodbye to 75 years of dominance at the home of cricket. They boys will be gutted. The skipper will be gutted at that sort of shot after a promising start.

The Poms still need 7 wickets. It is not impossible to see this out.

If you take another look, Strauss only dives forward AFTER he half volleyed the ball because he knew he wasn't quite there. While he was attempting to take the catch, he was crouched, but not diving forward. He watched the ball into his hands and knew damned well he never caught it, and I can't believe some people are giving him the benefit of the doubt.
