Discraceful effort by the dimwit who did this. Should be banned from ALL sporting events for the rest of their lives !!!!

i did notice that, and i dare say half the reason why the young lad dropped the catch. It is disgraceful too see that people are trying to cheat their way to see their country win! the IDIOT that did this (do they know who it was?) should be banned from all sporting events around the world ... very poor form by the person (s) involved

It's a 20/20 crowd, not a cricket crowd. People who attend 20/20 couldn't give a stuff about fair play or good cricket, they are there to make a noise and behave like a moron. That's what cricket has been reduced to.

Symonds at 7?? i dont think this will happen at all..when it comes to one day cricket m.hussey bats below symonds and clarke!! i think that D.Hussey even tho he is a quality player, when clarke and symonds are fit he may miss out because haddin will be batting lower down the order and not opening wen we had the luxury with gilchrist! the starting line up IMO against the South Africans will be, if clarke is fit:

Hopes
Marsh (warner not in initiall sqaud)
Ponting
Clarke
M.Hussey
D.Hussey
Cam White
haddin (these two in either order i guess)
Bracken
Hilfenhaus
Tait

12th Man: Haurtiz
13th Man: Harris (siddle out injured now i heard)

i think Hauritz may get a gig and bat at 8 with white missing out, but i think his 20/20 hittin at the end may have got him a spot in the first one day game

no matter if ur a true cricket fan or there for a piss up and a good time (which most cricket fans are there for aswell), this is unacceptable behaviour and i hope never happens again! did this have any effect on the young fella dropping the catch? well i dont know but the point is that it should not happen

I wasn't trying to predict what the selectors would pick, I was saying who I'd have in there, between 4 and 7 could go in any order, depending on the situation. I think that you are pretty close to how they will line up, Warner has been added now, so he might get the nod ahead of Marsh.

My bad, and yeah definitely depending on situation which order they can go, they are all quality batters!
It was my understanding that warner was talked about being included and any changes to the squad would be made after the 2nd one dayer. Ryan Harris was included due to Siddle's injury!
If warner was to be added and play, would they drop marsh and still open hopes or would they keep marsh in with warner and bat hopes down at 8??
will be interesting too see how much faith they have in marsh and the balance they go

1.Was it fair to say that last night the actual quality batsman excelled, not sloggers bar White of course.
2. Duminy is probably the most exciting talent in world cricket too if i had to say.
3. Is it just me or does Botha look and act like a dick? :?

i think white is a quality batsman, and did his job (to slog and hit boundaries when needed). i think in ODI's if we need him to bat for 10-15 overs to get back on track he will be there and do it, he is more then just a slogger...
botha i really do not like the bloke already, he still has a pretty suspect action IMO. Why is he captain? what about AB or Kallis or Boucher, or someone that plays both forms of the game? and yes i know u dont have to play btoh forms to be a captain!

and hopes booney had a good ODI year last year and is a great depth bowler and a very handy player that has been used and also performed well for australia over the last year in the ODI format

Lucky Botha is in, there wasn't a current South African that I didn't like. I've been very impressed with every player during the test series, add Albie Morkel and Herschelle to the group and it's hard not to like them. Botha should be playing cricket beacuse he is a FULL TOSS, the way he talks to his players is poor, the way he dragged it out for far longer than it should've gone for was a disgrace also.

on that note he just got fined 10% of his pay from the first 20/20 for slow over rate...surely this sanction is doubled for his efforts in the second game! how can they not bowl the overs on time when they had a quarter of there overs bowld in spin, its only 20 overs surely theycan get through em quicker them quicker then they did

Yes he does and watching him closely last night he looked like a dictator, on more than one occasion he appeared to be abusing his players for moving to slowly to the ball not bowling the correct line and lengthetc etc, the camera people did a great job on him, anyone that acts like he did lst night could not have the backing of his players and then he slowed the game to a halt in between overs, he should have lost his entire match payment last night and given a huge warning that if it happens again he cops a huge suspension

He should get fined for slow over rates. It's supposed to be a quick, high tempo game and he took ages between each delivery. It was pretty pointless really as it didn't stop the Aussies from winning.

As for the laser incident, it seems it's being looked into now and they are trying to find the culprit. Hopefully they do but I don't like their chances.

Whilst the laser incident is showing what some vegetables get up to at the cricket, i doubt whether the player would have caught it, what also amazes me is where the player was when he started to dive to take the catch, whoever had the laser must have had exceptional eye, hand co-ordination to get it into the eye at the specific moment the player was going to catch the ball. I hope they catch up with the peanut (highly unlikely) and give him his dues, pretty poor behaviour IMHO, and obviously someone with a hell alot of experience doing it to be so spot on
