Yeah, who wants to see someone hit a ball coming at them over 150kph up over the keepers head for 6, what are they thinking

exactly, not a cricket shot at all! go to memorial drive if you want to watch Henry Le Conte play some trick shots. This is not cricket mate! Go play tennis

cue MAL

Half a million through the gates so far, that would equate to the total of all Shield and Ryobi/McDonald's Cup matches ever I'd be thinking, must be carp.

True, but ask that 500,000 what the definition of "building an innings" is, or describe a leg cutter to you....

It's not Big Bash but just watching a T20 on ESPN between Trinidad & Tobago V Leeward Islands.T & T made 3/211 (Keiron Pollard 56* n.o. off of 15 balls - 7 sixes and 2 fours  )
In reply, Leeward Islands are 5/24 off 8 overs. They were 5/10 off 5 overs. Ravi Rampaul 2/6 off 4 overs

I thought pollard wasn't playing for the STRIKERS bcos he was injured? 56* off 15 balls with every 2nd ball going over the fence suggests otherwise .

I hope it's a DVD-R, other wise you wasted whole disc on 2 1/2 overs.

BS 7/168[20]
LYNN 34 [27] didnt score for about 7 balls then exploded
VAN DER MERWE 36 [24] brilliant allrounder in this comp
VETTORI 40[25] against brainless opposition even he can score at will, brilliant knock
NESER 13[5] and a 2nd ball six, much improved player
AFRIDI 3/35[4] only 1 bad over
HEAL 1/21[4] about time he got a game

Great recovery from 5/74 with about 50 balls left
BS did something ST didnt do last night
the batsman played a shot a ball cricket
other teams prod, deflect, push singles playing toooooooo safe, to get from say 5/74 to say 7/100 with 2 overs to go
You might as well get out for 100 or get to 7/168 as the Heat did
Excellent recovery, superb batting

MR still had a hope of making the runs

MR 9/156[20]
AFRIDI 26 [14] about time he opened thats his spot these days
FINCH 72 [46]one man batting exhibition, had little support after Afridi got out
MAXWHIRRRRRL 10[6] copped an injury when fielding, could hardly run , denied a runner was unfair
MCDERMOTT 3/18 [4] is this the guy I said was a lollypop bowler, not anymore
NESER 3/31[4] his last over .....

Finch and Manou needed about 36 off 18 balls
Finch was trying to hit zacs, Manou was piss farting around soaking up too many balls
That Finch was run out with 2 overs to go was a result of slow batting by Manou
Mcdonald and Reardon used up too many balls and put Finchy under pressure

30 Needed off 12 balls, and came the over from hell for Micky Neser
WIDE

NO BALL +2
1
1
his 1st 3 overs were very good

VETTORI
gem of an innings
He is a very very very smart batsman
But gets away with too much
He hits MOST runs square of the wicket tonight [no surprise]
But Im not sure the renegades were aware of this ?
Cant recall any drives down the ground
When Flush Nannes bowled near the end at him, was there any way Danny would drive him down the ground with any power ?
No hes gunna hoik or swish him to the deep on the legside
So why not put another fielder there ?
Danny clobbered Flush
Next over Flush caught Danny
Flush completed the catch and then threw the ball into the turf in disgust, oh dear

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
BS
2/64
5/74
Afridi had about 3/21 off his 3 overs
Vettori and Van Der Merwe new at the crease
I was certain Afridi would bowl his 4 overs out
He didnt
His last over in a few overs time was bashed for about 14 or 15 runs
That cost MR the momentum and a reason for losing the match

MY VOTES
3 FINCH
2 AFRIDI
1 MCDERMOTT

No votes for Vettori
Is Mcdermotts 3/18[4] better than Vettoris 40[25] + 0/27 [4] ???

Brad Haddin, Mitch Starc, Shaun Marsh and Nathan Lyon have all been cleared to play in BBL this week.
All the others have been given a week off and are not permitted to play in BBL

Great Marsh and Haddin will slog runs and the selectors will think they are in prime batting form for the 4th test

And Lyon will get belted, while Starc takes wickets, and there will be more discussion about not picking Lyon.

All because of T20 carp.

Hey, Marsh proved he was fit and in form just before Xmas with a T20 99 n.o.

Great form indeed.

And David Warner made a 20/20 ton followed by a Test ton soon after
And Pat Cummins took 20/20 wickets b4 he played Tests
And Nathan Lyon took 20/20 wickets b4 he played Tests
And Starc took a few 20/20 wickets to find form b4 he played on the Perth Test and found form there as well
And Ponting played a game of 20/20 this summer, and his form has improved

Works both ways
