Look, I'm not saying Botha will lead us to the Shield final this year on the back of a 1000 run, 50 wicket season, I'm just laughing to myself that he's been shit canned on here since before he arrived, and then for a couple of bad FC games to start the year, when it was already well documented on this site just how long he's been out of FC cricket, and I think we are starting to see the reasons this bloke was bought to our state.
Will back him to win the Player of the Year in the Ryobi Cup, too. ;)

I wont go into hiding about Botha.
Useless cheat
Makes a few runs when QLD are trying to force a declaration and all of a sudden he is a superstar :?

Botha is 0/0 this game after making 30 then having 0/30. Well played

I'm not sure why everyone is hating on Botha? :?

Is it his fault he was offered the captaincy and $$ to come over here? No, at the end of the day he is a professional cricketer, and he needs to do what is in his best interests as well - you name me one person in his position that wouldn't have taken up the opportunity!

Also as for being a spinner and already having one, lets face it, Lyon will more than likely spend most of the summer with the aussie side, therefore making Botha our ONLY spinner in the side. Mixed with his ability to hold a bat - albeit he has struggled so far - it provides a space for another young batsman to come into the lineup for Lyon and strengthen our batting.

Give the bloke a chance i think, and calling him a cheat is a bit rich, it's not like he is Hansie Cronje..

Well for the first time in years we have bossed the first two days play.

They rock up today in perfect bowling conditions to keep the season alive.

We need to bowl them out today and have one maybe two more second innings wickets

Come on u spudbacks

SA v QLD - Sheffield Shield @ Adelaide Oval 23/10-26/10

Postby the joker » Thu Oct 25, 2012 10:54 am

Boof has called for Ferg to debut in the baggy green cap now. Hussey needs a big score in the last shield game before they select the side.
When was the last time SA had two players in the test side? 2004/5 I think the Pakistan series.

Lol one score and south Aussies are calling for an Aussie test call up.

And to think people consider Steve smith to have been 'gifted' a baggy green

1 good innings in how many?

Should not be anywhere near the test side, the Redbacks need him and they take priority over the baggy green.

I didn't realise you spoke on behalf of all south Australians.

There is at least one south Aussie who believes he is very close to a call up

Averaging 60 this shield season, only Ponting has more runs. And his new batting style helped by dean jones will stand up at test level
