If they are good enough to bat for 2 days on days 4 and 5, then we aren't going to win, even if we declare right now.

Nope, I haven't bothered to check, but my understanding is the law is something along the lines of if the stumps are already broken then a stump must be removed from the round via contact from the ball. Obviously this is normally completed by holding the ball against the stump, but if you hit it with enough force, you can knock it out of the ground.

That is correct.

The relevant Law:

1. Wicket put down
(a) The wicket is put down if a bail is completely removed from the top of the stumps, or a stump is struck out of the ground,
(i) by the ball,

There is no necessity for someone to hold the stump and remove it from the ground, it is just much more likely to happen that way.

Nah I'd bat until 4:50 EDST a lead of over 500, with the 10 min change over that would give us a 30 min crack at them at full throttle and then give the bowlers an over night rest and give them another working over in the morning, with two full days to get them out.

I'm actually surpised they didnt pull out of the England tour. They seriously got smashed there.

As for the gesture, well thats life. Our cricketers would cop plenty from the Indian crowds as well. I dont think there should be any repramand for it. Its life move. It just means now the crows will target him more, so really its now more his problem. Unless of course if was anything racists, thats obviously not ok.
