Bring on the Ashes in our back yard 2025

The two sides, based on ages not form, will be markedly different apart from England's batting which could be almost identical if Pope regains his place.

Out for the Aussies IMO will be Warner, Khawaja, Smith (will retire this summer), Hazelwood, probably Starc, Bolland and Head. Barring injury, I think Lyon will still be there.

The English bowling will be completely different too. Tongue and maybe Robinson the only one who played this series who might be there

Will the faster and truer pitches help the English batting or will the extra pace find out the techniques? Will the bigger ovals be harder to defend 4's, but see some of those sixes on small ovals be catches?

Ben “I wouldn’t want to win a series that way” Stokes claiming a catch he knew he didn’t take. Wonderful cricketer, fair hypocrite though. 2-2 probably about right to be fair, was buggerall between the two sides.

I thought they were the better side.

Test cricket is changed.

Australia should have been 3-0 nil up, had the poms 6/171 chasing 251 with No 8 & 9 at the crease.

Nah that doesn't work coz you could say England most definitely should have won the first test if not for the Cummins/Lyon partnership and Roots very generous declaration (which will be part of the refinement of bazball)

How come Root declared?

Reports the Australians asked several times for the English team to join them in the rooms for a post series drink only to have no response.

Wankers.

Why will Hazlewood, Boland or Head be out? I think Usman and Smith will still be playing too.

We’ve just had the most gruelling schedule imaginable, it means we’re 4 years away from having to repeat the process, we can beat up on sides now and finish up with immaculate averages.

Sh!t Form, if true.

Absolutely 100% against what I consider to be the spirit of cricket

Win lose draw or tie you should catch up with the opposition post game

Boland will be 36.5 when the series starts, Hazelwood will be 34-35 and I think will succumb to injuries by then, combined with Cummins being 32, Lyon 38, Starc 35-36 but probably retired, we will have had a transition in our bowling attack by then. Head to me is one bad series and a change in thought by different selectors, from being dropped.

There was just something in Smith's mannerisms and the way he got out in the last few Tests which make me think his skills and eye have started to decline.

Result margins in this series: 2 wickets, 43 runs, 3 wickets and 49 runs.
In all 343 men’s Ashes Tests played before this series, there had been only 25 matches won by margins of under 50 runs or by three or fewer wickets (and none in the 1960s or 1970s).

But England didn't win the 1st Test, or the 2nd Test. At this point Australia had already won the first 2 Tests and had a big chance to go 3 nil up.

Similar to how Sri Lanka changed ODI in the mid-late 90s.

Bazball may struggle against a captain who doesn't jump at shadows

Not sure all of it's on the captain.
The bowling plans put together by the coach were terrible.

It seems to me building pressure by making the batter think has gone out the window.
Fields were set to shut bowling.
A deep point first over is negative and gives an easy single every time. So pressure is relieved.

A bit disappointing to get rolled after needing 146 with 7 wickets in hand.

England has to pick a frontline spinner- no matter who it is

The way England bats, and should the weather not affect any game , it looks like a 3-2 win for one of the teams
I predict 2-2 and a draw
David Warner potentially can either win or lose this series for Australia

NostraMALdamus predicts the 2-2 series result
And yeah Moeen Ali did his bit
