Starc

Hazelwood

Richardson - 12th.

I reckon that's what we will go with. The next few shield matches will be very important when using the dukes. For mine Patterson should play as he has the first class runs up, Labuschagne is the one for mine that would miss out for Smith. We really need Smith back but he needs to get some longer form runs soon.

Take Harris out and put Warner there and that's how I think they'll line up, not saying I think they should, it will just happen given how weak we are at the moment.

Shaun Marsh can be considered a tad unlucky as everyone else got the chance to make themselves look good against a team that wouldn't be in the top half of our shield comp. You would think the door has now closed on him for a test match cricket.

Poor Kusal Perrera, I'm sure he would've loved to be going out there to face Starc first up, I bet he was happy to get out unscathed and start thinking about his flight back to Katunayake.

He actually has a pretty good point - Khawaja was prob underperforming just as much, and if they'd given Marsh a crack at SL i'm sure he would've cashed in like others on the cusp.. and then he would've locked away his Ashes spot.

Sadly.

Now Usman has brought himself another 6 chances with a century under zero pressure at all.

On a happy note, Travis Head has now lifted his average from 36.9 to 51 after this test, he is our only current player in the XI to average over 50.

Starc similar as well in some regards - has underperformed for a while, now has 9 wickets in this test, rediscovered his "mojo" it seems and put to rest the critics for a while.

I got his point, but Shaun Marsh can never, ever be considered unlucky.

Cummins did take 14 wickets, but Head made 304 inc 1x 100 and 2x 50 - thought he might've got the nod.

Guess they just figured the pitch was too good to bat on this test so runs were less valued.

Head couldn't have done any more with his opportunities.
